Bill I just read that Tom Clancy passed away, age 66, in Baltimore. http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/...

Kim Hathorn | 11 comments I haven't read many of the books--just one, "Red Storm Rising"--but I really enjoyed the movies, especially "The Hunt for Red October". RIP Tom Clancy.

David Freas (quillracer) | 2956 comments Red Storm Rising is one of my all-time favorite books. I re-read it a few months ago (for the 5th or 6th time) and it was as fresh and engaging this time as it was the first.

Robert Mangeot | 23 comments Clark was my favorite of his character, and Patriot Games probably my favorite of his novels. The Hunt for Red October is right there with it.

message 8: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (nancy133) | 1 comments Clancy has been one of my favorite authors from the beginning of his writing career. I think I own all of his books - will need to pre-order the one due out in Dec. He will be missed by me and many others who love his fact-action stories.

message 9: by Harriet (new)

Harriet Schultz So sad. Hunt for Red October was and is a favorite.

When a reviewer described my first book as "Tom Clancy with sexy romance" and he sent me a Tweet, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Not just a great writer, but a nice (although he'd deny it) guy!

message 10: by Bill (new)

Bill That is indeed nice, Harriet. Hunt for Red October is a favourite of mine as well..
