Hopefully we'll both be done tomorrow or we won't be able to roll!
Sounds like you did a lot of work today, but it's always nice to have a clean house :)

The cutoff is Sunday at midnight to have your reviews in and your captain roll.
But I'm off to read my book now as I forgot tomorrow is Sunday. I'll be back when I'm done

Roll 4~Moving to Space #18:

Book Read: Coming Home (Rock Bay, Book 1) by M.J. O'Shea
Date Finished: 10/19/13
Rating & Review: 3.5 stars.
this book touch a nerve because I have no tolerance for bullying. It pisses me off.
Tallis Carrington was King of Rock Bay, son of the Mayor, son of the elite and star athlete, where James Alexis Barry was a purging freshman whom Tallis called ""butter". Tallis and his jock homies terrorized the "nerdy kids", dunking them in toilets, tying them up on poles and other such demeaning treatments through high school.
After a scandal forced the Carringtons to move from town, Tallis moved to Seattle. Years later, hard economic times forced Talis to move back to Rock Bay and his grandma's house. None of the people in town wanted anything to do with Tally except Lex, who gave Tally a job, and a change to show the town that a Tally is a changed man.
I liked a Tally, but I couldn't get over Tallis. I just couldn't get over his chip on his shoulder when he was the one life crapped on. Tallis didn't take time to truly appreciate for 3 years, his treatment of others altered the course and memories of their high school years.
Alexis/Lex is a wonderful compassionate forgiving human being. Amazing. His family too. I'm humbled by their capacity to love, tolerate and accept. No wonder Lex was able to make it through and still be a decent business owner.
I can say the new Tally was a good guy. It seems being bitch slapped by life was a truly humbling experience and made a Tally a better and more honest man. Bravo to life's bitch slaps

maybe its just me, but i'm frustrated with waiting, it's starting to cut into other commitments. (cuz i'm checking)I'll just select something from my next to read shelf that fits the alternate categorty and if we are able to play before Thursday i'll post that.

I think we can't even pick our book until our reviews are posted and we know what our next spot will be...I thought about the alternative route earlier as well.
I have listened to 7 hours of an audiobook today as my kids are doing puzzles, watching football with daddy etc.
I know I am anal but I want to use this challenge to finish up open series, so I will have to wait for the number. I want to finish the challenge without using an alternative if I can avoid it.
Maybe I will suggest to Jenne that people who don't use alternative reads should get bonus points :D
To add another dimension to the game.
Ok, I won't check again for another 30 mins--that is my challenge to myself.

I have several to choose from so i'll be ok and still legal. luckily for me I have several that could fit the alternate category even if the series number didn't work and that would make me happy. i'm clearing my ridiculous tbr mountain range.i'm a book junkie, I finished a book yesterday, it rained but I didn't read and this is my day since hubby's watching football. i'm in withdrawal.
I've started on something for another challenge. If we get to roll, I'll stop reading that one and go on to something else.
That's right Ezi, you can't start reading till the team has rolled. The only exception I would make was if you had a team member that had to quit and it had caused you to miss a roll die to not knowing.

Doing team checks I see. The Cowboys took care of business with the eagles, though I wasn't impressed at how lethargic we looked against that weak team.
I'm going to watch the Colts v. broncos with hubby. If I don't pop back in after a few, then husband is claiming marital rights and I'll see y'all tomorrow :D

wait am I getting beat up? all I was a) I was frustrated with checking and b) no matter what the roll I'm gonna read an alternate this week.

Not you. Other players want to keep us honest, so they asked Jenne for clarification on the rules.

Popping in while TWD is on commercial, there was a lot of conversation about it today. I'm not picking on y'all :)this is the first week we've had multiple teams not done yet.
wait am I getting beat up? I must have missed that - I thought we were all commiserating with what we were reading while waiting - not beating anybody up...
Oh now I saw Ezi's comment...nice that other players are concerned about how we play, lol

I know, right? I feel a sense of pride about that...and dread about the dwindling time :(

The cowboys are all by themselves at the top of the division now :)Btw I'm beginning to like Williams.

Btw I'm beginning to like Williams."
Jenne, we only put up a few measly points on the Eagles and they had a 3rd string QB?
What happened to the offense that gave Denver all it could handle? We can't play this sloppy when we still have to play quality opponents. This game should have been fine tuning stuff.

Both of us are 3rd and 4th rated I was shocked at the no/low scoring. But we won and a division win to boot. I don't think well see too many more games like the Denver one. That was crazy scoring. We've also got no names just hired off of the street for the defensive line. I was pleased with the interceptions and the sacks today. But again the eagles put up no fight, we should of been scoring like crazy and we didn't.
and while waiting I became engrossed in some of Lorelei James' cowboys!Hubby's outta the shower....night ladies!
Roll 4 - Space #18
A Promise to Protect by Liz Johnson
Finished: 10/20
Rating: ★★★★✩
REVIEW:
I always enjoy a story when it features SEALs, so I was pretty sure I'd like this...as long as it wasn't corny, as some can be. I thought the author did a great job of showing the toughness of SEALs and also their kind caring side. Tristan, Ashley's brother, was a great character and I'm looking forward to reading his story in SEAL Under Siege . If you like suspense stories featuring SEALs you should enjoy this story too.
I rolled the die and it was a 3. So we are on space 21 and have to read a book that's #1, #2, or #21 in a series or the alternate item: publication year 2011. Team 7 - Se7en Deadly Sins

I am so sorry that it took me so long to finish and that it made you all wait SO long, but I'm so glad that I finish in time...I was getting concerned that I wouldn't for a bit there.
Megan wrote: "I was getting concerned that I wouldn't for a bit there."
If you didn't, I would have had a conniption. LOL.
I am glad you got it in on time, but to quote Clint Eastwood in a movie "What we've got here is a failure to communicate"

Review: Tallis Carrington is the senior jock/jackass of the high school. James A Barry aka Lex is the pudgy freshman boy that Tallis picks on the whole year until his family is humiliated and they move away. So what happens when your high school nemesis moves back to town and you're gay and still find him hot as hell. Oh, you've lost the pudginess, he doesn't recognize you at all and applies for a job at your coffee shop?
That is the premise. This was a sweet book and I really enjoyed getting to know both Lex and Tally. Interesting to find out why he was such an asshole. Was awesome watching them fall for each other and then try to find out what this was - real or just some fun? My oh my the author certainly did take me back to all those angsty, crappy feelings of high school with this one. Seems some people never grow out of that stuff - too bad for them. So what is Tally going to do when his old crowd from school start hanging out with him and have no idea he is gay - has been all these years?? Tally and Lex both have some growing to do in this book. I enjoyed the ride and want to find out who the next book will be about... Amy or Drew?? Welcome to Rock Bay!!
Again - thanks for the recommendation Ezi!!
