@Pat: if you can get past book 1, and keep going Dark Protectors is enjoyable. I liked Book 1, but I saw the potential to be better so I kept going.
I had something specific going when I read McKettrick - but it was ok. not rushing to get more but they weren't bad
Glad you liked your book Ezi. Is that series similar to Sentinel Wars series by Shannon K Butcher? Sorry you had to read out of order Debbie.
>>Linda Lael Miller - doesn't she right western type romance? or is it contemporary? Can't remember if I've ever read her,lol
Now I have to go look at her books
Oh, I had plenty of books that I could have read in order. I've just been eyeing that one and planned on reading it whether or not this challenge for something else. I was just ansy and couldn't wait!!

I've only read book 1 of the Sentinel series, maybe I need to try book 2.
Dark protectors is more similar to Midnight Breeds and BDB. Vampire brothers, mates, possessive, marking their mates, mate for life etc

yes she's wholesome western romance. I read a few to my neighbor when she needed help and found they were ok even if not my usual choice.
Dark Protectors is different from Sentinel Wars to me.
With the exception of Megan, everyone else seems to have enjoyed their books. Plus we had a good mix of #6 and alternative reads. Nice!
i'm hoping we get a 1, 3, 6 or 8 for this weeks reading since those are on my tbr that could work or maybe the alternate letter will allow me to read what I want. I agree with you Ezi, also there was conversation about some of the series so some of us saw books we may be interested in reading ourselves.
I literally have books 1-10 in various series, with the exception of a "9". So as long as we don't get a 9, I'm good to go:D

Rolled the die and it was a 4. So we are on space 10 and have to read a book that's #1 or #10 in a series, a stand-alone (for the 0), or the alternate item: Love -the -Cover. Team 7 - Se7en Deadly Sins

"I'm not quite sure how that one will work Ezi. We have to read a book that's #1 or #10 in a series, a stand-alone (for #0), or the alternate (which hasn't been posted yet). We don't read a book for #4. At least this is how I read the rules, please let me know if I'm wrong about this.
Thank you:D I figured that out a few minutes ago. I'm sleepy from waiting up.
I may read
for Book 10 in the Elemental Assassins series or
for a standalone (book 0).

I am a little sad because this is the first elemental assassin full novel that I have read. I have listened to prior 9. But I decided to take one for the team :D
I wonder if I am the only one gangsta enough to read a book 10
(*throwing down the gauntlet)

Moving to Space #: 10Book Read: Something Secret This Way Comes by Sierra Dean (#1 of the series)
Date Finished: October 10
Rating: 4 stars
Review: (excerpt from full review) Pat's thoughts on Something Secret This Way Comes
The appropriately named Secret has many, depending on her audience. Secret is hiding either the vampire, wolf or both side(s) of who she is from her friends, enemies and co-workers. After a particularly unsettling night at work where she discovers her immortal enemy Peyton has returned, Secret meets East Werewolf King, Lucas Rain. I didn't wholly appreciate having an ending that left so much unresolved¸ I would have enjoyed more closure on some things. Luckily I'm curious enough to read the next installment to find my answers. Overall, I'd say I liked but didn't love this paranormal kick-a** chick.
Roll 2 moved to Space #10

Read: The Spider (Elemental Assassin, Book 10) by Jennifer Estep
Finished: 10/10
Rating & Review: ★★★★
This book purports to give us the background of how Genevieve Snow earns her stripes on her path to becoming Ashland's most feared assassin--The Spider. In Truth, it is a book about a specific event that helped solidify Fletcher's lessons and cement them for Gin on her first solo assignment as the Spider.
Since this is an e-arc, I won't ruin it for you fans...but I saw similarities with her behavior in this book with her behavior in Spider's Bite, book 1 of this series. I also found it interesting that EVERYONE was present here including Bria and Finn even flirted with her, as Gin predicted that he would fall for that girl.
I won't go as far as calling it revisionist history, but I will say this: There is no Gin without Mab Monroe. Which is why I am anxiously waiting for the revelation of M.M Monroe
I really liked the book because it humanized her and highlighted her mistakes early one. My real point is that I feel that she never really learned from them like Gin believes she has. But this book was really just a snapshot of an event that taught Gin a difficult lesson. It wasn't a background story that bridged the gap from 8yr old Gin to 23 year old Pork Pit Waitress, assassin in training. So keep that in mind.

Great job Pat and Ezi.I can't read your review - don't want to hear about it yet,lol
I started mine last night - didn't get very far. Hopefully will get lots of reading in tonight.
I just finished. Roll 2 moved to Space #10

I was getting ready to read book 2 and realized that I had forgotten what happened in book 1 so I decided to read it again. This is a very light and easy read and not to be mistaken for your typical angel reads. Our angel swears, smokes, drinks, and even finds time for a romp (or two). I gave this book a 3.5 the first go around and did the same again.
Jim has been tagged as a fallen angel. In order for him to find redemption, he must find seven lost souls and save them. Ward is one of my all-time favorite paranormal authors, and I couldn’t help to compare this book to BDB. The boys are also mentioned in this book, which I found to be a lot of fun. Too bad, I did not become as attached to this series as I did to the “brothers”. I found the characters to be lackluster, and the connection for me just wasn’t there. However, I do plan to continue with this series and read Envy next.
