It's ok. I listen to it, so the accents enhance the story too. I am assuming we will probably stay in the "6" zone, so I'll look for a book

i'm torn if I want a 6 to either wrap or bring up to date a series or do an alternate an open a series, either way helps me on at least 2 other challenges and has me with a choice of 6books! I love the problem of having so much to read.
lucky I don't have to think about what to cook for dinner today.

I will be reading Damaged Goods (New York, #2) by Lainey Reese - using alternate - set in New York
It's not that long of a book ~ I should be done in time even though I won't get much reading in today as it is my son's birthday and we have plans for tonight after work.

Hope all your books are going better than mine:)

PepperP0t Moving to Space #: 66
Book Read: Kinked by Thea Harrison (book 6 of series)
Date Finished: December 1
Rating: 3.75stars
"Thumbnail Review: You can take the harp out the Harpy! Though she still hasn't found a way to prove that Quentin is guilty of anything, Aryal is convinced if she looks long enough and hard enough she'll find it. Their on-going war has detracted so much from Wyr business that Dragos orders them out of town on an assignment they have to work together on. If at the end of the assignment the bad blood remains they both have to leave the Sentinels.
To that end the obvious answer is to release the percolating sexual tension between them. Putting them together must have seemed like a good idea at the time and actually it was because of the chemistry between the two characters never flagged. The fast pace of the story slammed into me from the start of this read and kept me involved, intrigued and engaged throughout but I can't say I saw the overall arc furthered here. Cameos from the palace Wyr and mentions of past Sentinels rounded out the read. "

I tried reading her new series World of the Nightwalkers. Forbidden book 1 was so bad, I haven't continued it

that's my problem Gideon, Jacob, and Elijah were really good. Then she screwed it up with the vampires IMO. Actually not sure I can say that as I did like Damien in the other books just not how his book with Syreena went and of course Jasmine

I told you that I think the author has multiple personalities. I would bet money that these books were writen by her alters

message 823: by PepperP0t (new)

PepperP0t I agree the vampires didn't work and then she lost her way trying to get back to the demons.

Damien's book was more like Damian - a different vamp. maybe that's what all the redundancy was about, trying to get back to the characters so the reader was treated to way too much fluff and redundancy.

Book Read:
The Darkest Kiss by Keri Arthur
(Riley Jensen/The Guardian series, Book 6)
Finished: 12/3
Rating & Review:★★★1/2

I like this series, but I don't love it. Riley and the directorate are investigating a serial murder when it appears they have 2 serial killers. It's the same kind of Riley story, the only difference is that both Riley and Rhoan finally do some growing up in the relationship department. They both get new leases on love and it appears that they are both grabbing on to this second chance. It's a set up book for book 7, so I will probably read that on the next roll.

PepperP0t you could have read a new York book I had a couple of 6's and a couple of new yorks. so I did it the only way possible by putting the letters on paper on the floor and looked to see which one the dogs sniffed.

I am trying to read numbers...I forgot that I had a book 7 The Darkest Secret (Lords of the Underworld, #7) by Gena Showalter or I would have closed out either the Highlander series or Elder RAces

message 829: by PepperP0t (new)

PepperP0t choices, choices I know you're going with the numbers but sometimes the alternates have helped me close out series as well. looking at them has given me more choices so I was pleased with whichever I read for this challenge each time - or at least thought I would be (cuz you know I've been anal about reading from one specific shelf)

Jacked Up (Fast Track, #6) by Erin McCarthy
Completed 12/3
4 stars

This is the 6th book in the Fast Track installment series and this one, like the others, did not disappoint. Being a diehard NASCAR fan, I became interested with book 1 and fell in love with the storyline and all of the main characters. This is a sexy romantic series that has so far focused on Eve’s famous racecar brothers, Evan and Elec, along with other drivers that Eve has managed or has come in contact with at the track. Eve is the PR rep that keeps them and others in line. Eve can be a bitch at times, but her moods are indicative to her job and to dealing with some testosterone laden hotties.

In this installment, Eve must work her magic for Ford Nolan’s reputation. Nolan is Evan’s Jackman who had a rather untimely wardrobe malfunction that went viral. Nolan is determined to win over Eve even though they are from different types of families. Nolan and Eve are exact opposites. Eve lives for her job and ensuring that her brothers careers are successful; while Nolan loves his job, he also loves life and knows how to have a good time. When Eve realizes that she is not truly happy, Nolan is the one who pushes her to see what is really important.

I am looking forward to book 7, which was just released on 12/3/13!

Damaged Goods (New York, #2) by Lainey Reese
Completed 12/4/13
Rating:3.5♥

Review: This is the second in a series and is set in ....*drum roll* New York. Anyway this one revolves around Brice Marshall, cop - Cade's cousin from book #1. He heads to his cousin's club to blow off some steam after working on a particularly nasty case of a serial killer who is slaughtering young women. There he meets Terryn who ends up being the sub of his dreams.

I liked Brice and Terryn's blooming relationship. A brand new sub blossoming under a Dom's guidance was fun to watch. Was great to see Riley, Cade and Trevor from book 1 also. The mystery angle was pretty good - I did figure out who did it - sometimes that is half the fun. My one issue and I know I'm gonna sound picky and like a prude (maybe it's my age - not sure) - gonna spoiler it (view spoiler) I still want to read book #3 - Gage's book - Brice's friend who is also a Dom.

Great minds and all that Pat >> that's what I was wondering, lol. I'm thinking there is no way we are in contention @ 66. Even with a roll of 6 we would be @72.

Personally I'm good with no roll but that's just me. Means I can focus on Spell of the Highlander (Highlander, #7) by Karen Marie Moning for Bingo. So far it's really good :)

Roll 16 - Space #66
A Change of Fortune (Ladies of Distinction, #1) by Jen Turano
Read: A Change of Fortune by Jen Turano
Finished: December 5, 2013
Rating: ★★★★

REVIEW:
I read Gentleman of Her Dreams a prelude to the first book in the Ladies of Distinction series last year and really enjoyed it, but for some reason it took me forever to pick up A Change of Fortune. Now that I have finally read it I feel silly for waiting so long - it's a very exciting and humorous tale.

I was hooked from the first page. The story had me laughing and smiling so much that my face hurt at times. There were some sad parts, but even those had some humor in them so they weren't all that sad.

The characters, all the "good" ones, were so much fun to read and I immediately connected with each of them almost from the moment they first appeared in the story.

I loved Piper and Ben, Hamilton's children. They brought such a feel to the story and they were always injecting humor into the story with their antics.

The only reason I'm not giving this book 5 stars is that I felt some things were just too easy. Eliza is hiding, lying about it really, her identity of being part of aristocracy and whenever people find out the truth they are 1) so quick to believe she is who she says and 2) extremely forgiving about it. This was just a little unbelievable to me.

Overall though I enjoyed A Change of Fortune quite a lot and am looking forward to reading more in this series. Recommended to anyone who enjoys a story set in the past that makes you chuckle.

message 839: by Megan (new)

Megan (celtic_girl) | 586 comments Sorry about not getting on earlier, was planning on posting shortly after midnight but I just couldn't stay awake yesterday!

I too am fine with not rolling since it's more than one team with in contention of winning and it would be highly unlikely for all of them not to finish - which would be the only way we could possibly have a chance of getting past the 75 space.

This challenge has been a lot of fun and I've enjoyed almost every part of it.
