Alternate this week.

3 stars

Sienna must leave California and move to Nashville where her grandmother’s estate was just foreclosed. When Sienna enters the courtroom, she realizes that the man who holds the deed to her grandmother’s house is none other than millionaire rock star Lucas. Unfortunately, they had an almost fling two years ago and Lucas has not been able to get Sienna off is mind. Sienna wants to be as far away from him as she possibly can, so in order for Lucas to get Sienna into his bed he devises a plan that will satisfy both of them – or so he hopes. If she spends 10 days as his assistant, doing what he wants her to do, he will hand the deed over to her family. Although Sienna and her family don’t like this arrangement, they agree in order to have the deed released back to them. This is definitely an adult book with some strong content. While I don’t mind it, some may not feel comfortable reading an erotica book.

I enjoyed the plot but at times was a little slow. This book also follows the story of your typical erotica book so there wasn’t much creativity in the story for me enough to give it a higher rating. This is the first book by this author, and I will definitely have to check out other books that she has written.

Hidden Away (KGI, #3) by Maya Banks
3rd in KGI series
Finished 11/2/13
Rating - 3 - 3.5♥

Review: This is Garrett Kelly's story. Lattimer Marcus kills Allen Cross and Lattimer's sister Sarah gets to the building to late to stop her half brother from murdering the man who raped her - as in Lattimer has just pulled the trigger as she is about to step into the office. She realizes she is a witness to a crime and doesn't wish to have to testify against the only family she has left. She takes off for parts unknown. Resnick(CIA) has tracked her down and requests Garrett to keep track of her as they feel this is a way to get close to Lattimer and capture him for his crimes.
For me this story wasn't as good as the first two, Didn't really feel the spark between Garrett and Sarah. Quite honestly I thought Sarah was a little bit of an idiot for not realizing truly what her half brother was. That said it is always fun to have a glimpse into the crazy world of the Kelly family and this story was no different. Was nice to catch up on what was happening with Sam/Sophie (pregnant - new baby), Ethan/Rachel and the rest of the gang. Still planning to continue this series.

~Melissa~ | 5253 comments Sorry for the late post. Didn't mean to make any of you worry. Hubby and I had "very rare" Friday night plans this weekend. Two friends turned 40 and 50 respectively and decided to have a joint party last night. Was a total blast but lost all my uninterrupted reading time I usually get every Friday night.

I'm hoping so.

@Ezi - yeah the covers rock. My daughter was commenting on the *arm muscles* on this one. At least the guy has a shirt on. What to say to my almost 14 yo son - "Mom why do almost all the books you read have shirtless guys on them?" LOL - not like I pick the cover for the books I read - not that I'm complaining but not like I'm gonna tell him that *snickers*

Lean on Me (Masters of the Shadowlands, #4) by Cherise Sinclair
#4 in The Shadowlands series
Completed 11/3/13
Rating: 4♥
Review: Andrea wants to submit but has a problem submitting to any old Dom. He must be someone who can actually dominate this Amazon of a woman with an attitude to match. Master Cullen is pissed to have to accept a trainee into his program who is not a member of Shadowlands. He can't decide yet if he's going to accept her or push her to leave. Until he meets her - interesting how sparks fly with the one Dom who never takes any one sub more than once. However - Andrea has huge trust issues stemming from her childhood, along with the fact that when ever someone she doesn't know touches her her first reaction is to swing at them - again issues from her teen years. As always it is fun to be a fly on the wall at Shadowlands. Was great to have updates on all the other couples and meet a new Dom. I enjoyed Cullen and Andrea's courtship - if you can call it that, lol. However I thought he was rather hard on her for something that happened when they hadn't even "been together" for that long and he decided to end it?!? Anyway it all ended good.

PepperP0t Moving to Space #: 42
Book Read: Night Season by Eileen Wilks (book 4 of the series)
Date Finished: November 4
Rating: 3.75stars
Thumbnail Review: Cynna and Cullen are tricked into opening a gate to the Edge ream. Lured by insinuations of open trade with the human earth realm and intrigued by information on Cynna's father several others find themselves trapped in the realm with Cynna ¸Cullen and Gan while Cynna attempts to locate the lost medallion responsible for the realms weather. Cynna and Cullen's deepening romance is the strongest thread of this read (IMO). I'm growing increasingly disillusioned with this series, there's too little time spent with the Lupi for my taste. The first installment went to great lengths to explore Lupi hierarchy and their impact to human society. Now I'm wondering what was it for, why was it necessary and will the Lupi clans have much to add to the series. To date half of the books for the series take place in realms away from earth as we know it - putting the series more into fantasy than urban fantasy. With the strongest thread being the development of Cynna and Cullen's romance it seemed to veer more into PNR than urban fantasy. I really like 3 of the 4 main characters of this series and find the writing style extremely enjoyable. But am I'm hard-pressed to appreciate the less than compelling storylines so far which could affect pacing perception and make me scream false advertising.

I'm up to #4 in the Sentinel Wars too. I can't seem to make it work or end up without time every time I grab out my dead wood version of it. One of these days I'll read it.

The Sweetest Thing by Jill Shalvis (Book 2 of the Lucky Harbor Series)
Finished: November 4
Rating & Review: ★★★★
Book 2 in the Lucky Harbor Series features Tara Daniels and Ford Walker, who spent a summer together when they were 17. Tara had gotten pregnant and the stress of being young and pregnant had taken a toll on Tara and Ford. Tara gave up the baby for adoption and moved on, later getting married to Race car driver Logan Daniels. Ford stayed in Lucky Harbor, bartending and taking his life easy.

When Tara’s mom Phoebe died (book 1) leaving her Inn to her 3 daughters, Maddie, Tara & Chloe, Tara came from Texas with the intention of fixing up the Inn so they can sell the Inn and split the profits amongs themselves. She didn’t intend to stick around that small town which held painful memories of a summer of love & loss.

Little did she know that past would catch up with her and force her to deal with the things she ran away from all those years ago. Plus, her past love and present love would battle it out for the right to be her future.

Great writing, a lot more sex than I anticipated, but another great addition to the series. This was the anal retentive OCD, annoying, pretentious sister. In book 1, her poop just didn’t stink. She had a great man, great marriage, great clothes, had such a great life, blah, blah, blah…but at the end of the book we saw it was a façade. Tara was not happy, but this Inn project gave her an opportunity to fix herself as well as the business and Tara took that challenge. I ended up liking her in this book.

Read Mate Claimed
#4 in Shifters Unbound Series

4.5 stars

Wolfs, bears, and felines – oh my! I think that I am beginning to love sifters more than vampires – but not just any shifters! I immediately felt an attraction for Iona and Eric in Wildcat (book 3) when they met at the club. Eric now has his hands full with trying to convince Iona to leave the human world and move to Shiftertown by taking up the collar. Iona is only half shifter and has lived her entire life disguised as a human. Eric also has to deal with a situation instigated by the humans who closed one of the rival shiftertowns and are having the wolfs move into Eric’s pack. The wolf alpha and Eric are not friendly to say the least to one another. The wolf alpha would like nothing more than to mate claim Iona and overthrow Eric.

I love Jennifer Ashley’s writing style, but I thought by now I would tire of the series and pick it up next year. That is so not the case. To sum it all up, this is a fast sensual game of cat and mouse or in Eric’s case cat and cat.

Singularity (The Jevin Banks Experience, #2) by Steven James
Read: Singularity (The Jevin Banks Experience #2) by Steven James
Finished: November 7, 2013
Rating: ★★★★★

REVIEW:
The opening scene in Singularity was spine-tingling and shocking - which is great in a thriller. Some of the stuff in the book was a little hard to understand, even though it's told in a very easy way, so I found myself rereading some of the more detailed portions.

I read Placebo, the first book in this series, a year ago and wasn't thrilled with it (only gave it 3 stars), so I wasn't expecting much from this book. I was pleasantly surprised by how great Singularity was. I loved this book so much that I wonder if I were to reread the the first one if I'd love it more, since now I know the characters so much more. If I ever have the time I think I just might.

If you are looking for a scientific thriller I think you should read Singularity. I highly recommend it.

***I received a complimentary copy of this book to review. I was asked to give my honest opinion of the book - which I have done.***
