Each woman in the group has a distinct personality and her own set of problems but they come together to support one another I give it 4 stars. Review:Cam McKay is former soldier wounded in Iraq now Deputy Sheriff. Cam is interested in Domini Katzinski since she arrived in Sundance. There is mutual attraction between them. Domini may appear quite shy but she's anything but shy. Will Cam see more than Domini's quiet appearance?

Review: This is one action-packed finale. We start the book knowing that Percy's been fighting all summer leading up to his 16 birthday (the birthday) and things aren't slowing down even when he wants them to. Poseidon's fighting in the ocean, the other gods are battling a threat sweeping across the US, and Percy and his fellow Camp Half-Blood attendees are all that stands between Kronos and Olympus. On top of all the action, we get to see more backstory for certain characters and while one Great Prophecy gets concluded, don't worry there's much more to come in the world of demigods!
Harry potter and the order of the Phoenix by J.K RowlingFinished: nov. 20
Rating: 5 stars
Review: this book is the fifth in the Harry Potter series. I have read this before but even so I enjoyed it immensely. It's my favorite in the series but it is also sad and had me crying even though I knew what would happen. I love this book and recommend it to anyone.

Silent Honor by Danielle Steel - Stand alone book - Finished 11/23 - 4 starsOne of my long term reading goals is to read the entire bibliography of Danielle Steel. This book is # 39 out of probably close to 100 novels written by this prolific author. I do like her style of writing and when I am in the mood I can become completely immersed in the lives of her characters. Silent Honor addressed a shameful time in the history of the US. A time I haven't really studied or thought much about.
In this book Horoko is a Japanese teenager living in Kyoto with her parents and brother. Her father is very interested in his daughter spending a year in California living with his brothers family. His brother is a professor at Stanford. She reluctantly goes to honor her fathers wishes. Unfortunately she is enrolled in a private girls school for fall semester of 1941. After Pearl Harbor she is now an alien and enemy to the US. She and her uncles family get caught up in the whole panic following the bombings and get herded into containment camps. I feel it is a blight on the history of the US the way we treated American citizens during this time just because they were of Japanese descent. Talk about profiling. I gave this excellent story 4 stars.
I posted this in the discussion thread but figured I ought to post it with each team too. Here's the Thanksgiving schedule:
We'll roll this Thursday and reviews will be due on Sunday like we've been doing.
We'll roll Sunday and then have until the following Sunday the 1st till those are due. And then it'll be back to normal. Based on the board positions I don't think we'll go much more than a couple or a few rolls after Thanksgiving at the most.
If anyone is going out of town this weekend, anyone that won't have time to read and review next week please say so on your team's thread. I'll be on the lookout for anyone's post. If you don't think you'll be able to read just let your team know and you'll be exempt/given a pass etc. without slowing down the team.
Thanks Jenne. That sounds like a good schedule. I'm not traveling so it won't be a problem for me but maybe some of my teammates might have a time crunch.

Review: What is Everlost? That's the question Allie and Nick are trying to answer after dying in a car crash and waking up there. Nothing is as simple as it appears, and as Nick seeks to find comfort/security, Allie continues to question everything. This novel is part Peter Pan, part Lord of Flies, and a lot of imagination. An intriguing look at what might happen in the afterlife.
There's just three of us this year for Thanksgiving, so I don't think I'll have any issues with the schedule as is.
Reading: Co-Exist by Julia CraneFinished: Nov 24
Rating: 5 stars
Review: Co- exist is the first book in Keegan's chronicles. Keegan is a light elf and she thinks that she's the only one I her friends that is a supernatural creature. Rourk is Keegan's chosen. Elves always have a chosen that they meet on their 18th birthday. But Keegan and Rourk are special. There is a war brewing between the light elves and dark elves. Rourk must protect Keegan at all costs. I highly recommend this to others
As soon as Tia posts her review I'll roll the dice and then we get an entire week to read our next book. That will be a nice break.

Angels at the Table: A Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy Christmas Story by Debbie Macomber (Angels Everywhere #7)This is such a fun series. All of Debbie Macomber's books are feel good stories. This Angels Everywhere books finds the 3 angels Shirley, Goodness and Mercy introducing an apprentice angel named Will to the people on Earth. Will spots 2 people in Times Square on New Years Eve that are all alone while everyone else around them are hugging and kissing in the New Year. Will intervenes and a romance is sparked. There are many obstacles in their way though.
Good thing I read Undead and Unpopular last week, so I'd have a #6 to read!Space 67

Review: Betsy's wedding day is finally here, but first she has to find the groom. When everyone seems to disappear from her life, the Queen of the Vampires has to rely on herself to solve the mystery and make sure her wedding goes off without a hitch. Not as fun as some of the other installments, but I'm still a fan of the series.

Review:Riley Jenson is sent to investigate a series of murders involving street kids and vampires. Both murders may not be linked but Riley must investigate any way. Riley is concentrating on her relationship with Quinn since the demise of her relationship with Kellen. A strange werewolf is hanging around Riley's investigation and seems very familiar to her. Strange werewolf has ties to her old pack alpha and she wants nothing to do with them. Can Riley keep her love life out of her work? That remains to be seen.
Reading demon apocalypse by Darren ShanFinished: nov. 29
Rating: 5 stars
Review: demon apocalypse is the 6th book in Darren Shan's demonstrate series. Normally I don't like these grusome type books but I actually enjoyed the series immensely. It brings on a new twist to werewolves and demons that I hadn't thought of. I highly recommend this to others who enjoy a fast-paced supernatural book.
I hope everyone had a great week with lots of nice memories created. I was looking at the game spreadsheet and it looks like 1 team could finish this week so tomorrow's roll could be the last one.

16 Lighthouse Road by Debbie MacomberThis was my first read of the Cedar Cove series by Debbie Macomber. My husband and I enjoyed the TV series this year on the Hallmark Channel. The show as well as the book itself were a nice change from the usual serial killers and assorted crazies that I usually read about and watch on TV.
This series introduces the harbor town of Cedar Cove on the coast of Washington State. The lead character is Judge Olivia Lockhart and her family and friends. A nice feel good story and romance. Macomber writes in such a way that you get a real feel for small town life in a beautiful locale. I give it ★★★★'s
Hope everyone who celebrated had a great Thanksgiving. I'm going to continue on with Betsy.Space 71
Reading:
by MaryJanice DavidsonFinished: 12/4/13
Rating: 4 stars
Review: This book marks the beginning of a new chapter in this series. The cover art was changed (I miss the cartoons!) and the author has chosen to go a bit darker. While the happy-go-lucky Betsy we've all come to love is still present, things do become more serious. The Fiends (remember them?) are back and pissed off about being left out at the farm drinking animal blood. The Ant is back (remember Betsy has issues with ghosts now and again). And Nick's animosity toward Betsy is reaching a breaking point (remember the mind-wiping incident). This book is supposed to be the first in a series-within-the-series trilogy, so I'm curious to see where Betsy's headed.

Review:Luca "Lucky" Luchazi is head of security for Sinners and Saints Casino. Lucky misses his old boss Charles Vega as mentor and father figure. Since Vega's death, Lucky has been the same since. Lucky is plagued with more questions than answers regarding Vega's death and several other so called accidents. It's up to Lucky to solve the mystery when trying to keep his head above water at the same time. Can it be done?
I'll roll the dice for the last time after Tia posts her review. One team is sitting on the finish line already.
I sent a PM to Tia this morning and she hasn't responded so I guess we won't have a roll this week and the challenge will be over so it looks like we are done. I'm not going to be available for several hours now and I have checked and rechecked her post all day. Thanks for letting me part of this great team. I hope to see you around GR in the future.
Thanks Sheila for being a great captain! Even though we're not going to win, this has been a fun challenge. I finished a few series, made decent progress in a couple, and even started some new ones that I'll now have to finish at some point!
Thank you I enjoyed it too. We weren't in the running to win but that was merely the randomness of the dice rolls. I will definitely play this game again especially if it gets tweaked to be just 1 book per week. I counted up and I have over 100 series that I am reading. Some have 40 or so books in the series. I am declaring 2014 The Year of the Series.
I am so so so sorry guys! I feel horrible! We lost because of me:/ I got grounded and my mom wouldn't let me on GR:(
