What Fran said - they limit the compare to 100 - I wish there was an option for next page etc but they don't

Ah that's why. Seems stupid to have a compare books button and then have it only show you part of the common books. What's the point of that? So far it hasn't been much of a problem just an oddity I noticed. I'll go to a read shelf if I have to but so far I have found a book I am willing to read next pretty easily. My lack of progress is more having to do with a team challenge involving uncooperative dice rolls.

Because it you compared books and had like 2000 in common would tie up resources etc - i think

And ugghhh...the page minimum! I keep forgetting.

In track 2, book 4 isn't enough pages (144 pages). I am going to see if I can make book 3 link to book 5...aaahhh.

I missed the whole part of linking too. Glad you asked about it before I got much further. At least when you reuse a friend, you can just copy/paste the links.

You know, this is turning out to be harder than I initially thought it would be. Trying to line up buddy reads, group reads, and pifm commitments is really becoming difficult for me. LOL.... I've had to bow out of a couple of buddy reads because I couldn't get the book to squeeze in and then I've read a couple of books that the whole time I was thinking what a bummer that I couldn't get the credit for them. *sigh*

Quick question:

"You need to post a start date and end date with each book read and there should be no overlapping."

Is this for each track or in total? That is, can I start my book for track 1, take a pause and read on track 2 and then get back to my book for track 1?

for each track...so you can't read book 1 for track 1, and also be reading another book for the same track at the same time

OK, I thought I knew how to link the member/friends we are using, but I guess I don't. They link from my word processing program (word) but when I copy them into GR it loses the link. Help? Thx!

You can join whenever - it is better to start from now through (I think)

We can use the same person consecutively? Doesn't seem right. If you use the same person consecutively, then you only have to find one person who rated the book 5 stars. That is a whole lot easier than finding two people who rated it 5 stars.

Seems to me that from now, I'll just run through my friends 5 at a time.

You can - but you can only use a max of 5 times

As someone who's done that twice now (with different "friends") I can say both times have been a last resort. I love trying to make other challenge books, or books I just really want to read, fit into this challenge. Sometimes that means going through every member who gave a 5 star rating. I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment, lol ;-)

That's what I've been doing too. Going through and trying to plan at least one book out so I don't get stuck, but doing 5 at a time with one person seems like it will be much less searching. I guess I'll know once I try it.

I put too many library ebooks on wish list hold and of course had a bunch come in at once and cannot make them work into this without starting a new track. So I am so far behind.

I've been trying not to wipe-out my friends that I have a lot of their 5* books in my TBR out too quickly. But I have used someone consecutively a couple of times.

I know what you mean Penney, I tried to work my books from other challenges, into this one but its so time consuming, so I have stopped doing that much. I try to plan at least 5 books out, so if I finish, and won't have time to research, I can at least read something in the meanwhile until I have a chance to plan out the next 5.

I was doing better at this when I had 2 or 3 possible lists going for each track with lots of audiobooks tossed in as well. But I got busy and didn't do that.

What happens if the book on my track is so bad I can't finish it? Do I pick another book?
