Agents of Light and Darkness by Simon R. Green
Finished Nov 3/15
Rating: 4 stars
Review: This is the second in the Nightside series. I really enjoyed this adventure of John taylor & shotgun Suzie. They are on the hunt for the Unholy Grail. Along the way we get to know more about the mystery surrounding the identity of John's mother and his parents relationship. I really enjoyed the secondary characters of The Collector and Nasty Jack. This world is so strange and unusual. Love it!

Title: Shadowland by Meg Cabot
Date read: 11/4
Rating: 4 stars
Review
Shadowland was a great start to a series. I loved Suze especially learning about her abilities. Her interactions with the ghosts often had me laughing at how physical she got with them. Suze was definitely a scrapper that wasn't backing down from anything. I also liked how she took care of most of the problems herself. Jesse was a great character and I hope to see more of him in future books in the series.
Shelf #16: Alpha Male

Book: Life Cycle by Zoe Winters
Date Finished: Nov 3
Rating: 3.5 stars
REVIEW:
I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. This is a series that can be read when we are looking for something light to read.
Cain is an unapologetically bad eight thousand year old demon. Tam is a cycler- someone who doesn't die, but becomes 12 again when they die, thereby cycling their life. Cyclers retain their memories of previous cycles. When one of the twelve cyclers goes on a rampage of the others cyclers for their powers, the rest of the preternatural factions band together yo stop this evil cycler aka Jack ( the ripper). Only two more are left and one of them is Tamar aka Tam. The rest of the story follows Cain and Tam.
There were several flaws on this book, of course. Buy something this book made me ignore them just enjoy it.
I will definitely read the next book in the series!

Review
Haley and Jason start off as neighbors that hate each other. When they actually talk to each other they become good friends. I laughed many times at their pranks and banter especially when Jason takes all the desserts Haley makes. Then when friendship turns to something more things get complicated and insecurities surface. I enjoyed this book and will probably continue on with the series.

Review
Dina is an Innkeeper at an Inn that specializes in unique guests. She has to follow certain rules as part of her role as Innkeeper. She has to make tough choices when a killer stalks her neighborhood. Will she follow the rules or help save her community. I really enjoyed this book it started off slow to me but picked up quickly with lots of action. The world was very interesting I liked learning more as the book continued. Discovering more about Dina's background and her role as an Inn keeper was great. Sean, Arland and Caldenia were also awesome characters I can't wait to know more about. I will be reading the next book to see what's gonna happen next with Dina and the Inn.

The final shelf has been called and its a winner for Team 9. I will still complete all my outstanding books within the week so that Sandra will have stats.

Book: Rumor Has It by Jill Shalvis
Date Finished: Nov 16
Rating: 3.5 stars
REVIEW:
I enjoyed this more a bit more than the previous one. Griffin and Kate are an interesting pair. The book had too much relationship drama and not enough animals( the animals are what I love about this series!) though. Kate's interaction with her students and the way she understands them is great. I loved Kate's younger brother Tommy.
I was about to give up on this series because of the previous book. Good thing I read this book- I think I am going to continue this series, which happens to be the only Contemporary series I don't mind reading!

Book: Working Stiff by Rachel Caine
Date Finished: Nov 18
Rating: 4 stars
REVIEW:
I didn't know what to expect when I started this story, but I really enjoyed it! I'm not a big fan of zombies, but then this book was very interesting and quite refreshing!
Byrn is an interesting heroine. She is not kick-ass. She makes mistakes and gets afraid. Yet she keeps going and has this inner strength to keep going.
The plot was also very well developed. While it took some time to connect with Bryn's character at the beginning of the book, once I got accustomed to it, I enjoyed this book so much!
I'll definitely be reading the next book. And incidentally, I don't let the less than pleasing cover of this book turn you off this book like it did me. The book is quite good!
