So happy that you got family time! That's what it is all about! Spoiling babies is the best!!
OK So I'm at 61% of
and I'm enjoying it, so this is my pick Rachel :)It's a fairly quick read so I'll finish it in the morning.
Shelf: Same but Different

The overall feeling I've got, now that I've finished reading ... is Charm.
Clare Cermak is an upstanding citizen, highly regarded Accountant, a CPA. She also has just inherited M$20 from her weird great aunt Sandra (I had a chuckle about that!). The catch is, she sees dead people, and dead dogs and unless she comes to grip with her 'power' she'll die or go crazy.
Zach Slade, a damaged ex-Deputy has moved to Denver to be closer to his mother and to escape Montana, where a workplace accident deprived him of his much-loved career.
So two damaged people and the case of Jack Slade of the Pony Express. I didn't realise till the end when reading the notes that Jack was an actual person. No wonder the story just really hung together.
Looking forward to the next one in the series.
Shelf #18 ~ 11 Nov: B-I-N-G-ORead a book: written by an author whose first or last name begins with B, I, N, G or O
This will be the last shelf as it is a winner for Team #9.
Shelf: B I N G O

I'm sad that this is the last Heart's Desire book.
The final Beckett brother, Daniel, doesn't want to cast the Mate Spell till his enemy Arthur Godwin is dead. He knows who his mate is - Kerry, and he doesn't want her in any more danger than she's been in already. The Godwin's have already kidnapped her twice, tortured her, beaten her up and though they are all dead except for the spineless Arthur, he doesn't want to take any chances.
Kerry, a mundane, knows all about magic as her BFF, Lana is a witch, and it was explained to her when she was 16. Lana is now mated to one of Daniel's brothers. Kerry knows she is Daniel's mate and can't understand what is keeping him from casting the Mate Spell.
Lots of adventures, hexes, dead bodies, and imp possessed teens later we have a HEA and a truly good epilogue.
I'm reading Cross Your Heart by Michele Bardsley. Should be finished this evening or tomorrow. My mom was not well yesterday when I got home from work and I did not get my review in. I'll try to do that this evening.
Sandra wrote: "I love that series Cheryl.Hope your mom is feeling better!"
I gave her this awful crud I had. Then a cousin that she was very close to died last week. She has been in a terrible funk about that and doesn't feel well to boot. I hate to see her hurting. :-(
PS- I sent you a personal message a few minutes ago.
If this is a winning category for someone else do our reviews matter? I need to post Lothaire but I thought it was a moot point. Do I need to?
Yes please Alisa, it will let us get our stamp as well as go towards the stats. I do covers, x read, authors read etc

This was LONG. It took less time to have a baby than it did to read Lothaire's story (17 hours on audio). I did about half on audio but got to a point where I couldn't take the hillbilly girl's accent another minute so I switched to print. (the first book in the series I've done that on). Anyways.....enjoyed the book. Glad to see Lothaire be given a girl who ran him through the hoops.

Shelf 17: SAME BUT DIFFERENTBlood Bound by Rachel Vincent
Read: 11.8.15
Rating: 4.5 stars
Review:
Only two-thirty in the morning, and I already had blood on my hands.
Liv Warren is a Tracker. She specifically tracks with blood. Her ex, Cam Caballero, is a Tracker as well but he is stronger with names. The Skilled were brought into the spotlight thirty years ago and mostly freelance their skills. In addition to Trackers, there are Binders, Travelers, Readers and Jammers. Liv and Cam are thrown together when Liv's childhood friend, Anna , calls on an old binding. Anna's husband is killed and she wants justice.
There are two warring factions in the organized crime areas of town. Liv works with Ruben Cavazos while Cam is bound to Jake Tower. Liv is also blood bound to her friend Anna to do whatever she asks or risk dying from not honoring her oath.
Liv and Cam become entwined in a huge mess when Anna's daughter is kidnapped. Their feelings for each other surface even as they try to keep them hidden.
This was a powerful story that grabbed me from the beginning. I ached for the lost love between Liv and Cam. Her relationship with Ruben made me see red and I wanted to pound him too! There was so much of a star crossed lovers theme that I was afraid it would distract from the plot. It did not! I really enjoyed the world building for the story and look forward to the next book in the series.
Week 18: B=I=N=G=OCross Your Heart by Michele Bardsley
Read: 11.13.15
Rating: 3 stars
Review:
"You wanna make out?" asked the man standing on my welcome mat.
Elizabeth was forty-three when she returned to Broken Heart. She was a recent widow who came to settle her grandfather's estate. She was attacked and killed by Lorcan O'Halloran when he suffered from the Taint. Being brought back as a vampire meant she stayed in Broken Heart, a parakind community in Oklahoma. A 150 year old homicidal ghost is terrorizing Elizabeth. Enter Tez. A hunky were-jaguar that realizes Elizabeth is his life mate much to the dissatisfaction of Tawny, another feline shifter.
It has been ages since I read the last book in this series. It took me a bit to catch up with everyone and remember who everyone was. I love Queen Patsy! There are moments that make you laugh out loud. I particularly liked Tez' porn star GPS. I appreciated that Elizabeth was a more mature addition to the town. The story moves well and you soon slip back into feeling like you are visiting old friends. I'll need to read the next book in the series a little sooner.
I'm sad to see the game finish. I've enjoyed reading with all of you and getting your point of view on books I may not have tried. My TBR is higher and my friend list is fuller. Happy Reading everyone!~~cheryl
I agree. It was kind of a hard game for me. I've been in the weeds almost the entire time due to my daughter's surgery and all the complications getting me off to a bad start But.....you've all been great to the newbie/slacker. :) It's been great getting to know you all.
Never mind Alisa, your daughter always came first and we totally got that :) Hope she's finally recovered from the surgery, or at least starting to feel normal again.
Are you going to read
? I thought it was great and a quick read.
She's recovered from the surgery itself but it triggered all kinds of complications we didn't know could happen. It's in all truth been a nightmare. She's still not able to walk and she's now got 3x physical therapy appointments a week plus two other doctors. I'm not going to read the Andrews one. I will at some point but I'm so far behind in life and in reviews I'm glad to be done. My focus now is getting caught up on reviews. I'm going to take a break from challenges and reviews until after the first of the year.
No worries Alisa. And wow, the complications must of been bad if she's not walking yet. Nothing worse than rounds of treatments & lots of doctors - though of course they are necessary, but still a pain in the butt.
A wise idea to take a back seat on the reviews & challenges - concentrate on you and the family. There will always be more books & challenges when you feel you've got more time.
Hope she's better soon and best of luck with it all!!
I agree Alisa. I sent you a personal message too. She had a HUGE procedure! I'm sure recovery is a major undertaking. Focus on her and yourself!Take care!

It was a pleasure reading with you all, and I hope that you all come back for the next round of Bingo.Alisa, hope your daughter makes a full and comprehensive recovery and you get to feel normal again soon (((hugs)))
Rachel, thanks for doing all the Captn duties with good humour, when I sometimes take over by mistake :D
