I've been interested in reading for the first time a P.D. James book. Do you recommend "Cover Her Face"? What other books have you read by her?

I actually haven't read this book and only read two of her earlier books. She is very popular and her books are readily found at used book sales. P.D. James is not one of my favorite authors, but others might disagree.

Cover Her Face is the first P.D. James, and not my favourite. I especially like Shroud For A Nightingale, which takes place at a school of nursing, and A Mind To Murder, which takes place in a psychiatric clinic. Both are earlier books, and I love how P.D. James handles the settings in both. A lot of sly humour, especially in the psychiatric one, and good mysteries too.
