Chapter Eight

I like Chloe as a character and I think she's actually handling everything really well. I mean, if I were seeing dead people then locked up with other crazy people, I'd be freaking out.

Starting buddy read with Tayla for September 14th.

Chapter 1-4 (view spoiler)[I was enthralled in this book from the first page but I usually am with Kelly's books.

I would never want to be a child to see ghosts. This is horrible for her. Aah, the hanging man, I'd pee myself. It'd no wounder she blocked a lot out from her childhood.

I like how Kelly Armstrong has made Chloe a normal looking girl, not the typical beauty heroin. Just a easy to relate girl that isn't popular or an amazing beauty.

The fact Chloe is in theater arts is cool. Its a great way to bring originality to her. She describes setting and situation as if she was directing a movie. This was a nice change from how other perspectives usually talk in books.

I find it hard to believe no one came into the bathroom for 20 minutes when she was dying her hair. Even the fact she took off her shirt and died her hair wasn't believable. She comes across as a self conscious teen girl. She wouldn't have done that.

I feel terrible for Chloe, she's terrified out of her mind from seeing the custodian. Now she's probably going to the hospital to be assessed mentally. I'm thrilled though that I'm only into the beginning of this book and I already care about the character. Kelly is pulling emotion from me already. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 4-8

(view spoiler)[ I knew the hair dying part would be brought up again. It's just in her characteristics. They don't really give a solid reason why she went against her moral mindset and broke rules. She just randomly decided not to care. It's still bothering me. It is not believable.

I don't like that she used pulp culture references to make comparisons. she could have left them out or made up some her self. Teens that read this in a few more years aren't going to understand the comparisons. The book will be dated.

I don't blame Chloe. I would be terrified to go back to the same school that will have labeled me crazy at.

I enjoy the inner dialog of Chloe. She is sarcastic and positive. She handles being in a mental home quite calmly.

So far Liz and Rae seem nice but Tori seems mean.

I feel horrible for Chloe finding out she is Schizophrenic.

At this point I don't know if their witches or what. I want to know. I hope they have powers. (hide spoiler)]

chapter 8-14

(view spoiler)[ I'm still convinced there witches and wizards. I think there powers become stronger after puberty. That's what I'm guessing. I' really into this book. I can get lost in it and I love that feeling.

I think Liz can move things with her mind and Chloe is a medium. I also think that Rae can set fires with her mind and Tory is a empathy that can hear thought and is probably labeled bipolar.

I hate that Chloe is second guessing herself because of her diagnoses. I understand why and it makes complete sense though but it doesn't mean i have to like it. (hide spoiler)]

I still don't know how i feel about the two boys.
