I just finished reading Faithful Two Diehard Boston Red Sox Fans Chronicle the Historic 2004 Season a couple of weeks ago. Certainly not the standard Stephen King, but as I love baseball too, it was highly entertaining...

Mark | 35 comments FAITHFUL is a great book! And perfect timing, huh? Right as the Sox win the Series after 86 years!

It was pretty cool, and the backstory is great with them finally breaking the "curse" in the same year that King and O'Nan decided to chronicle the season.

The book even made me like Manny Ramirez, who I've never cared for before. (Ironically, a week after I finished the book, Manny got suspended for substance abuse)

Mark | 35 comments What?! A Stephen King fan who believes in curses??? I'm shocked and stunned.

GO SOX!

Lonnie I liked Faithful but I wasn't a Red Sox fan so I was a little confused who the players were at times. But, I took it for what it was. Two fans docuemnting a season. Because of this book I have watched Still We Believe. Pretty good documentary regarding the fans as well.

Bondama (kerensa) | 868 comments Whoa!! -- Has anyone else read "Ur?" -- It's SK's novella written specifically for the Kindle. Fairly common place story, but it has by far the BEST description of the "low men in yellow coats" that's he's ever written!!

Betsy Boo (betsyboo) | 195 comments I was contemplating (actually just dreaming about) buying a Kindle. I looked it up on Amazon last week to see if the price had gone down enough (it hadn't) and I saw where UR was on there. How frustrating! I hope it will be available some other format someday!

Lisa (lisapasonelli) Love the Kindle! And UR was very funky... I enjoyed it

Bondama (kerensa) | 868 comments I have to admit that I was against the Kindle (until I "inherited" one from a non-reader who just liked gadgets!)

I am hooked now, tho... it's so easy to carry around multiple books, and altho Amazon IS charging more than $9.99 for newer books, on the whole, they're still cheaper than new hardbacks - I wonder what percentage the authors get?

alicia grant (shesha556) I am cuurently reading Bag of Bones and while it started off good I seem to be losing interest in finishing. Not sure if it's me or the book.I have been in a real reading funk since the beginning of spring.

Kandice | 4387 comments My son downloaded UR on his I-Pod touch for me. I think it was $3 or something, but you don't HAVE to have a Kindle to read it.

Bondama (kerensa) | 868 comments Kandice, that's fantastic -- I remember several years ago when King put "The Plant" on the 'net, it was sooo frustrating. I can't say as it was his "best" work -- really, not even very good -- and overall, it was a pretty much failed experiment, although I have to grant him kudos for trying. The fact that "Ur" - a much better work is available for iPod as well as Kindle is great
