SOLVED. Mid-80's Christian / Inspirational book possibly named "Karen" [s]

Hi, all,

I read a book in the mid-1980's (84, 85, 86?) that was in our school library about a teenager named Karen who was in a car accident and suffered traumatic brain injury. The book was hardback with a sky-blue dust jacket and white lettering in what looked like (from memory) a Monotype Corsiva font. One of the things that stuck in my mind about the story is that when the car hit her the impact was so forceful her shoes were knocked off her feet.

Any ideas?

Was it fiction or real life? I have found several more recent books about real cases, but nothing from the 80s. The only thing I can think of from that far back is the books about Joni Eareckson Tada. But she was in a diving accident and suffered a spinal injury.

So I found it by doing another odd search on Google. - The book is called Kathy, not Karen, or "The Miracle of Kathy Miller". I just ordered it on Amazon. Thanks again for all who looked and tried to help!

Is this book on Goodreads? I was checking to see that it was shelved, and it isn't coming up when I search.

Took a bit of searching but I found it. The book is just Kathy. "The Miracle of Kathy Miller" seems to be the name of the movie.
