Chapter 16: (view spoiler)[ This is starting to bore me a bit, and I think I enjoyed the first book more unless something exciting goes down near the end. It's started off quite fast-paced but has slowed down a lot. I feel like some of the Grisha are going to revolt because they don't want to be led by Alina. Also, Alina and Mal's relationship seems a bit strange, and Mal's jealousy is getting kind of annoying. If they love each other and were fighting so hard to be together I don't really understand why they don't seem more happy to be able to be together. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[My god did I love this plot. It seemed to add the "Second Book Syndrome" of weak plots but strong character building, managing to do both instead. I loved the twists and turns, and this book just grabbed my attention from the moment it started. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I still love how the Grisha trilogy builds the world. It explains it in a way that doesn't make it seem obvious you are a complete outsider to their world, but almost as if you've visited there before, not explaining the meaning of words that aren't important, only of the ones it does. Overall, it gives the book a much more fluid feeling. (hide spoiler)]

Okay, get ready to hear the dumbest story ever. So, I thought I'd read the first book of this series, and I've only just now realised that I haven't. Why? Because I've read Daughter of Smoke and Bone, not Shadow and Bone, and thought this was book 2 in the other series. So, I'm going to get book 1 out of the library ASAP, and read this directly after. I'm really sorry I'm such an idiot!
