I’m currently only on chapter 18, does the book start speeding up anytime soon? Not a lot is happening, usually just one kind of important thing per chapter like a new soldier or something.

For me, it didn’t until the last couple of chapters. I thought the next book was also pretty similar with a fast paced start and end but not much happening in the middle.

Finished chapter 18 and holy cow. It’s moved a lot faster but why doesn’t Alina tell Mal about seeing the Darkling? It’s annoyed me ever since the first vision. I understand why but what if it’s serious? You could at least trust Mal. Though maybe he will be quite protective and tell everyone. Oh god I don’t know what to think. She needs to speak up though.

I’ve finally finished… I wasn’t expecting a lot of what happened, wow. All I can really say is that I’m guessing in the next book they go for the firebird and try to retrieve Alina’s power. I don’t thinkNikolai will return but if he does he will come when Alina and her squad gets attacked or something like that and save them. I’m just gonna carry on reading Caraval. Wow.
