Book database is not complete; I can't find an option to add a book not in their database.

+1. No longer ever get goodreads withdrawal.
I can also live without checking facebook, tumblr, Instagram, LinkedIn, ..

So...features....did mailbox features disappear? Am I missing something?

Messages/mail are found by clicking on the numeral to the right of the Dashboard/blog green box in upper left of screen.
Messages are at bottom right of notification list

Or for those of us who haven't been able to use the booklikes menus since they implemented a database and are giving them exactly 30 more days before abandoning the site completely:
Http://booklikes.com/messages will let you check for messages.
Http://booklikes.com/notification will let you check for notifications
and you may be lucky enough to edit some of your most recent blog posts by seeing them on the dashboard at http://booklikes.com/blog (I have long since kissed my saved drafts including some saved review templates goodbye)
I wish I had finished editing html to customize my page prior site becoming nearly unusable for me (I can sometimes make a new post, read the most recent posts by others and get a book shelved as currently reading). Moot point since they still don't have a way to export to a data file, but, I also wish I had either finished organizing my book shelves or never wasted the time almost finishing before it all went to hell. I really cannot believe how very much I used to want them to get a book database ....*sigh* so many good friends and last year was such a fun time there...

I understand quite a few people have problems using the site when they're on mobile devices. I've never tried using it from my phone, but I didn't have any problems using it from the iPad when I was on vacation. But I was only doing basic stuff: adding books, rating, reviewing, shelving, so I didn't give it a massive workout.

I know some of my issues stemmed from that.
I could only post text with a photo from my lowly browser. When I loaded a more popular one, I was able to post with text only.

I thought booklikes now offered "technical editors" or something that was just another phrase for volunteer librarians?

The issues and errors (I really get cranky when I cannot even shelve books) have become a very long term issue for me, usually made worse when they roll out the Thursday candy instead of their being fixes inckuded for my issues and others.
I am unfortunately forming an option that now booklikes is wanting to be the book blogging site and to hell with those of us not interested in blogging. Or who are wanting to catalog their reading and discuss/review books without necessarily wanting blog options.
Have they added any features at all to the discussion rooms in the past six months? Or (outside of initial database rollout and a few immediate followup tweaks) anything rolled out not geared to be attractive to book blogging/bloggers?
I must admit, though, since I cannot get to my book catalog at least all the missing bookcovers no longer bother me.

It's something BL is working on - they haven't implemented it yet.

Oops, may have been jumping the gun. It was mentioned on quite a few of the Thursday candy blog posts so I had assumed they had implemented already. I'm pretty sure there's already some way to volunteer (one of the posts said how but is no longer viewable on my dashboard if anyone has a link).
At any rate, I think at least that much if it is supposed to be coming.

Booklikes defines "friend" as people you follow who follow you back if I remember correctly. Doesn't work well when both friends don't shelve the exact same edition (someone said they fixed that after I tested; but, booklikes database in general not likely to have editions correctly combined where the compare would work well until they implement their version of librarian program. Not that I would know since my shelving there is still busted...)
I don't like how close the feature comes to Leafmarks' compare books.
I wish on goodreads, booklikes and Leafmarks you could specify which shelves to use or block from book compare. Not just so my "not for me" shelves weren't included but also books I shelved because I read them might also include childhood favorites or school/work required books that don't indicate my current reading tastes.

The new compare books feature works to compare books with just people who are following you (you don't have to be following them). It doesn't have to be a two-way friendship. But you can't yet, it seems, compare books with random BL's. Hopefully that will change soon, as compare books makes it easier to figure out if you want to follow them.

Someone asked that question on the announcement thread, and BL said they will be expanding it later.
