I tried to watch the Mortal Instruments movie last night and fell asleep on it. Not every popular YA novel translates into a good movie.
I really loved it as a book and I think what makes this book special is how Grace and Sam thinks and feels is a really important factor. This book has a very rough plot and is not very good. The main point pf the book is the constant conflict of feelings of the two characters and their interaction towards their peers and parents. If this was a movie it would be tiring to watch.
I love this book( frankly i love the series! ) So if theres a movie, I will be first in line to watch it. If there isnt a movie..Me: Dream on ? ~R
Why do people who don't like these books even READ these threads? Just to rain on the parade of those who do?

Sorry if you thought i was 'raining on your parade'. x
you know what, if they are making this into a movie i want to see who graces BF is gonna look like. HE HAD BETTER BE HOT!!!!
THAT'S REALLY REALLY BAD. Most movies that are based on books and are terrible. They don't get the cast's color of eyes or hair right or miss most of the important parts of the book and this book is one of my favs! I think this just really sucks but, that doesn't mean I would miss this movie. I really hope they get this movie right.
LOVED the books but am skeptical about a movie. I would hate for it to be ruined like Hunger games and Twilight was for me.
From Maggie Stiefvaters blog "I get asked about the movies. A lot. A lot a lot. Here’s what I know:The Scorpio Races has been optioned by Katzsmith Productions, and they are in the process of engaging a screenwriter. Optioning means that they’re looking at assembling all of the movie parts, but it’s all very tenuous and at any time it can perish.
The Raven Boys has also recently been optioned, this time by New Line/ Warner Bros.
Shiver was optioned, but the producers and I had a difference of creative opinion and so I decided not to continue with it. It’s not to say it will never happen, but it’s definitely not on the books now. I would always rather no movie than a movie I don’t think my readers will appreciate, if it’s in my power (and with film, it isn’t often).
So, neither The Scorpio Races nor The Raven Boys has a release date (everything you see online to the contrary is lies and damn lies). No, they don’t have trailers (although some fans have very fine editing skills on YouTube). No, they are not yet casting. I get asked a lot if there are new developments. Trust me, if there were new developments, I’d be howling them from the rooftops. And by rooftops, I mean Twitter." from http://maggiestiefvater.com/faq/
Reading this says there is not a movie being released
GOD! this is going to be a disaster! even worst then twilight... Seriously, there are so many amazing book out there, why this one? this is just sad.
I hope they don`t make it into a movie. If it doesn`t look like the charecter don`t hire the guy/girl. I think it`s because it`s so hard to find the right person to fit the charecter and mostly when they find someone who can do the part they give it to them. If i were a director i would just find a person to get it overwith you know? It would take forever to find the person who fits a description who is actuallty into acting. It just wastes time. Thats my opinion.
Oh my G.O.S.H. I can't wait to see the movie and I finally have a reason to read the second and third book to the Shiver trilogy.
I love these books:) a friend recommended them to me, and I'm like, ' really, the summary sounds okay? Not for me really' That was until i read the first chapter! Amazing! The second one is okay, but the third one is pretty good! The first one is the best, in my POV……
I feel this would make a very good movie although I do feel as though it could run the risk of being another generic, teen-driven movie franchise that could ruin it for me. It was a brilliant book and I would really hate for that to ruin it.
The book isn't becoming a movie anyone Maggie said that she hated the script and they just decided to give up on it instead. Too bad it could have been so good.
There are not enough supernatural films, they can't come out fast enough for me. I liked the book but actually I think the film could be better. I liked the twilight books but love the films way more. I'm a grandma now but I love love love YA
I only read the first in thsi series and couldn't get too into it. Do you think I should reread the first book and give the entire series a chance? I'm 36 and love YA too.
