SOLVED. Boy in Wheelchair befriends Ghost [s]

When I was in grade 6 I was required to chose between several books and write a report. Now I cannot remember for the life of me the name of the book.
This book was about a boy who was recently restricted to a wheelchair and was very bitter. He ends up doing a small job in the school where he meets a girl "Sarah". He becomes good friends with her but later learns that she is a ghost that had been killed in a fire at the very school he goes to. Later it is revealed that it was a male teacher.
For years I have thought it was called "Saving Sarah" but have had no luck.

Was it an old or new book then?

it was 2005-2006 and it looked new but it was Ina batch of many that my teacher got from the school library.
