Scott Cramer | 71 comments Hello,
My book, Colony East, is now available as an ebook at Amazon, iTunes, and B&N. KOBO will happen any hour now.
Is there something I need to do to make sure the book is available in the drop down?

Also, am I able to add Colony East to various lists?

Thanks,
Scott C

Yes: for each new ASIN, ISBN, or BNID assigned to this book you should create a new edition listing with that ID number and combine it with the main book record. (Or, if you'd rather, list them here along with any other edition variations (cover changes, release dates for this edition, etc.) and let a librarian add them.)

Do you mean listopia lists? Yes, technically you can add any book to any list whose criteria it meets, but on most lists it's considered a little rude for an author to add their own book since lists are usually meant for readers' opinions.

Scott Cramer | 71 comments Thanks! I'll steer clear of adding my book to any lists.

I always get confused by editions, etc... But maybe this will help. The eBook is now available for Kindle, Nook, and at iTunes, and soon KOBO. For each system, I have always assigned the same eBook ISBN:

978-0-9898128-0-1

If you need anything else, please let me know. Thank you!

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Okay, it looks like you already have a record for the ebook using that ISBN, so most places should be set.

When Amazon makes a Kindle edition available, though, they'll assign an ASIN to it, and the Amazon links will work better if we create another edition record with the ASIN on it. It doesn't look like the Kindle edition is live on Amazon's website yet.

B&N sometimes uses the ebook ISBN and sometimes assigns its own beginning with 294- (legally we are not able to take information directly from B&N so I can't actually look up your book on B&N's website and tell you that they've assigned one of these 294- numbers to your book, but if you as the book's author were to comment here giving that id number directly to us we could create a new edition record using it).

Kobo, too, sometimes uses the regular ISBN and sometimes assigns a new one beginning with 123-, so you might want to check on that once it's available.

Complicated, I know, sorry!

Does this info help in any way:

Amazon kindle version is live
ASIN: B00FFBDEUW

Here's the itunes link. I don't see any type of number here
https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/colo...

Here's a "number" on the B&N page
BN ID: 2940148538165

KOBO is a laggard.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Yup! I've added the Kindle and B&N editions:
http://www.goodreads.com/work/edition...

iTunes uses the regular ISBN, so you're already set there. Just let us know if Kobo has assigned a new id once they're up and you'll be all set.

(Note that each bookstore's links will work for the specific edition(s) sold by the bookstore, so for example searching at Amazon from the 294- ebook edition won't show anything but searching from the paperback or Kindle editions will get you that edition as sold by Amazon.)
