message 1: by Robin (new)

Robin | 47 comments The game is like this: a person gives some description, conditions etc, and someone else has to give the title of a book that match the description. The one who answers correctly get to post another question.

E.g.

Q: Give me one book that has the day of the week in the title?
A: Drowned Wednesday by Garth Nix

Rules:
-Only fiction is allowed. Both Malay and English books can be included.
-Title and author needed to be given
-If you think the question is too hard, you can give a hint. Maximum only three!
-If no one can answer, or had reached 3 hints, well, you had to give another question (or someone else can take over)
-If it is about a very specific book, please say so.
-Be creative!
-We'll see how this goes.

I'll start with an easy one

1. Give me one book that has a fruit name in its title? Whatever fruit :)

(Now, for the life of me I can't remember where I first saw this kind of game before - guess the song game? And is it in the correct folder?)

Kataklicik | 714 comments A: Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe A Novel by Fannie Flagg

Do I post the question directly? Ke kena tunggu Robin kata pass dulu? And weiii, tomato tu buah okay; buah yang kita sayurkan :) Hehehe since saya penuh confident jawapan saya okay -

Q: Book with weird characters, including a rabbit yang sokmo lambat, a queen yang suka pancung rakyat, and a caterpillar smoking what we today call a shisha pipe yg popular sgt kat cafes merata Klang Valley?

message 3: by Robin (last edited May 31, 2009 08:00AM) (new)

Robin | 47 comments Kataklicik, apasal jawapan susah sangat, saya siap google betul ker tomato tu buah, hahaha.. (teruk betul general knowledge saya ya)

Betul lah tu, kalau soalan macam saya tu tak yah tunggu pun takpe, terus bagi jawapan :p

Soalan kataklicik kena pikir dulu nih, macam tau tapi bab shisha pipe dah tak sure dah

message 6: by Kataklicik (new)

Kataklicik | 714 comments Ulya! Correct! Tapi mana subsequent question weiii?

(Obviously Hannah is an innocent babe in the woods hehehe)

message 7: by Robin (new)

Robin | 47 comments Hmm.. maybe we need to change the rules a bit then? So the person who had answered can just post the next question without waiting for the poster to reply 'yes, you're correct?'

message 8: by Ulya A.K (new)

Ulya A.K | 263 comments Whoops.. forgot to post the question pulak. Itu la bahaya nya updating Goodreads in the middle of month end closing.. hehe..

Q: Give me a book that has a one word title.

message 9: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 92 comments It by Stephen King

Wah... Bravo Robin :). The answer's correct!

;) To be honest, I haven't finish the book myself. But I have such an intense feeling when reading its first few chapters when I was a student - it stayed with me even until now. The solitariness of the main character's soul still haunting me.

@Peesha, boleh jadi munsyi dewan ;)

BTW, tengah tunggu soalan Robin sekarang

message 23: by Robin (new)

Robin | 47 comments Hehe tak sangka betul jawapan saya rupanya :)

OK soalan saya senang sangat la:

Q: The title of the book consists of only numbers.

message 24: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 92 comments 1984 by George Orwell?

Or do you have another specific book in mind?

message 25: by Robin (new)

Robin | 47 comments Nope, general question je. So ok jawapan tu :)

Soalan Hannah plak?

message 26: by Hannah (new)

Q: A book which the main character is autistic and mathematically gifted?

message 27: by Peesha (last edited Jun 04, 2009 02:38AM) (new)

Teacher Man: A Memoir by Frank McCourt?

Wait, that's a biography and Robin said the book must be a fiction so I guess I'm wrong.

I re-post my question, if it is OK ..

Q: She was a designer baby that born as to keep someone alive

message 30: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 92 comments Err.. My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult?

Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen

Here's a very easy one:

She is regarded as the best female author of crime fiction and in one of her famous novels, everybody did it. That is, all the suspects were guilty of committing the crime.

Told you it was easy ;)

message 34: by Kataklicik (new)

Kataklicik | 714 comments Tu easy ke..?

Not for me hahahaha

message 35: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 92 comments lol. easy huh?
I'm gonna make a wild guess here: Agatha Christie? Hehe... making everyone the culprit sounds like what she would do.

message 36: by Kataklicik (new)

Kataklicik | 714 comments Presumably it's Christie, tapi which book yg engkome maksudkan ni? Sebab as I remember it, she makes it appear as though everyone is suspect tapi the one yang macam innocent tu yg sebenarnya guilty!!

message 37: by Khairul Hezry, I hate people but not you. You, I like. (new)

Khairul Hezry | 2357 comments Mod
Gee, no one here has ever read Christie, huh? Yes, it is Agatha Christie so Hannah is correct about the author.

As for the title...well, it's famous because in this book all the suspects were guilty (everybody did it). ALL 12 OF THEM. Never been done before in crime fiction.

Another hint: The murder takes place on a train and the detective is the famous Hercule Poirot.

message 38: by Ayscha (new)

Ayscha (nayscha) | 32 comments I know the answer!

but I didn't read the book, just search in wikipedia, found agatha christie, then found the novel..

hehe..does that considered cheating?? (0_0)

but I'm not gonna answer though, I'll just give somebody else the chance..hahaha (^_^)

message 39: by Khairul Hezry, I hate people but not you. You, I like. (new)

Khairul Hezry | 2357 comments Mod
Well, somebody has to answer it! Might as well be you since you know (and I dont think it's considered cheating if you do a search. That's what most people here did anyway)

So what's the answer? And what's your question?
