Everyone has a talent. Some are just more legal than others. Cat Montgomery steals jewels for AB&T, the premier agency for thieves in Seattle. Career perks: good pay, great disguises, constant adrenaline rush. Drawbacks: the possibility of jail time…or worse. Now she’s taken on a lucrative side job—recovering a priceless Faberge egg for an alleged Romanov descendent.
Though Cat is working solo, there are plenty of interested players. Her FBI ex-boyfriend is nosing around, as is her former mentor-turned-nemesis. Then there’s the sexy art thief helping—or is he hindering?—her mission. If her luck holds out, this could be the case that allows Cat to retire with her conscience and her life intact. If not, it’ll be her last job for all the wrong reasons…

In the midst of a raging blizzard, lightning struck on the night Laura Shane was born. And a mysterious blond-haired stranger showed up just in time to save her from dying.
Years later, in the wake of another storm, Laura will be saved again. For someone is watching over her. But just as lightning illuminates, darkness always follows close behind.

Good for thinking of Koontz! The fastest moving book I ever read is Velocity by him. But good for Travis for nominating Altar of Eden. I'm torn.

It reminded me of the Executioner series books I used to love, by Don Pendleton. It is also the source for the under-appreciated movie, Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins.

Indy noms are welcome, if they are readily available and are nominated by someone other than the person who wrote the book.
I'd like to nominate Fast by Shane M. Brown. I've read two of his other books, Plaza and Melt, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. I've been wanting to read Fast for a while now and expect it to be another fast-paced action thriller! Kindle version is only $2.99 as well.

I added your selection to the poll because you did provide a link, but it's easier to click on 'add book/author' right above the text box to add a book link, Magiccats, and it will show the actual book title. It should end up looking like this:
A Beautiful Heist
Please keep that in mind for next time.

Books must be in print, meaning available to buy new in paper or ebook format.
Books previously selected as a past group read are not eligible.
Books must be the first in a series or otherwise standalone book (if part of a series, it must be suitable to be read without reading the other books).
A list of past group read books can be found at the link below, and other general group read information:
