Book recommendations (don't have to be like TBH)

I'm after a book recommendation and considering some of the best recommendations I've had in the past have come from this group (These is my words, the Tea Rose etc) I'd like to pick your brains for a book that's impossible to put down. It doesn't have to be the same genre as TBH, although I'm not into ancient history, sci-fi, crime and I'm a bit over the supernatural stuff too. I don't want any duds - I am starting school holidays on Friday and I want to sink my teeth into something great... My reading time is precious these days (don't get anywhere near enough reading time as I'd like) so I don't want anything that's going to leave me feeling ripped off. Thanks ladies :)

Looking through your to-read list also had jumping at me. It wasn't as epic as TBH or the others you mentioned (I loved them too!) but it sucked me in fairly early and it was fast-paced enough I read it very quickly.

I've been reading a lot of YA lately-- who knew, that's where so many good books are hiding? I loved and (warning, cliffhanger ending)

The only other Paullina Simons book I've read that I really loved was . That is more of a mystery/character study, though, so I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.

And lastly, I know you said you were over paranormal, but if you haven't read , it takes the cake for me as far as can't-put-them-down pure escapist fun. I love that series. The first one is a three-star for a lot of people but it picks up from there.

If you haven't read "me before you" by Jojo Moyes I highly recommend you do. Can't remember reading a book that has made me cry so much but such a beautiful story.

How beautiful was Will's letter to Lou. Every time I thought about it I would cry. Me Before You is definitely one of my favourites. Have you tried books by AL Jackson, LH Cosway, Sylvain Reynard and Colleen Hoover? Some of my favourite authors. However TBH Trilogy is my all time favourite.

Also How to Kill a Rock Star and The God Shaped Hole - we're brilliant. They're by Tiffanie de Bartolo I cried, laughed and cried through these books.

Thanks ladies. After some of the comments in this thread, I read 'Me before you', and loved it. One of the best books I've read this year... I'll be sure to check out some of the others too. :D

Well for you next holidays, I would echo the recommendations for Into The Wilderness and Girl In Times Square. And even though you said you are not into Ancient History, my favourite book this year and a beautiful love story was The Song of Achilles. Another book that really moved me was: The Book Thief. And an author who is quite different but much loved is Pat Conroy. His Prince of Tides and Beach Music are two of my favourites. His male heroes are so tortured and loveable, his books so bittersweet.
