Hi, I'm trying to identify a book and relying on my memory following a brief glimpse on Amazon maybe a year ago.
All I can recall is that it was an Italian author and an English translation was imminent, or perhaps already done. The plot involved a private detective or a police officer trying to track down a reel of cine film, or perhaps a video tape which contains important though disturbing images. Needless to say, bad things happen to those who view it (driven mad by what the see?). It put me in mind of Koji Suzuki's Ring and Ramsey Campbell's Ancient Images.
I know there's not much to go on but if anyone has any clues as to its author and title that would be great.
My reply above was to Night Film but Syndrome E is the book! Thanks a lot Veronica, despite my erroneous hints -French author, not Italian. Watchers of the film go blind, not mad- you found it. It is now in my wish list!
