Rhea Etiquette & Espionage

It has werewolves and vampires. The setting was interesting and the characters were really well-written.

The Iron King

Fascinating series about the evolution of Fae in a modern world.

Shiver

A series by Maggie Stiefvater about werewolves set in the contemporary US.

Wake

The first book in the Watersong series about Sirens in the modern world.

Ruth Beautiful Creatures- book better then the movie

The Emerald Atlas
The Fire Chronicle

Grim MY FAVOURITES:-
The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. A wizard in modern day Chicago working as the first wizard PI helping police with "Special/weird" cases. Its kick ass, has lots of action, both guns and magic, lots of sardonic humor, sarcastic humor, its fun, excellent character development and supporting characters.

The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne. 2000year old druid running a herbal shop in the USA hunted by homicidal Gods and fae. Has a dog he can talk too who is hilarious. Lots of action, fun read.

Sandman Slim Series by Richard Kadrey. Noir Humour, very violent but kind of tongue in cheek so it just works. He was sent to Hell alive, became a Devils play thing, then a devils assassin now he's back on earth and after revenge. I don't sell it very well but its an addictive page turner.

FANTASY FICTION
Everything by David Gemmel - Fantasy fiction at its best.

Brent Weeks. - The Shadows series and new one the Prism series has new slants on an existing genre, especially the prism series.

Peter V Brett - good new author I highly recommend him.

Tom Lloyd - storm caller. Great book

URBAN FANTASY
Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews. Magic and technology ebb and flows, society has kind of broken down, vampires were-beasts and even gods are back. Good action, has a romance interest with the lord of the beasts but this is an aside too the story which adds to it and does not overpower it.

For something different try
The Damned Busters (To Hell and Back #1)by Matthew Hughes. After accidentally summoning a demon, Chesney Anstruther refuses to sell his soul, which leads through various confusions to, well, Hell going on strike. Which means that nothing bad ever happens in the world… with disastrous consequences.

Cherie Dystopian:
The hunger games
Divergent
Unwind trilogy
Maze Runner trilogy
I've also heard that the Knife of Never Letting go is good

Aubrey Well these are some of my favorite books anyways so:
matched
ender's game
uglies

Inigo Montoya I just found (actually it was recommended by a guy I work with) a book that I'm quite astounded by. It's called "The Orb of Chaos" by M. Ray Allen.

It's an indie book so I was reluctant to try it and not sure that I would have if my friend hadn't recommended it. He loved it and said that it was one of the best books he'd read in a while so I tried it and I'll be darned if he wasn't right. It's fantastic! I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the adventure of it.

I was looking for books (preferably sci-fi or fantasy) but was tired of all the steampunk and dystopian crap out there. I have grown soooo weary of being depressed after reading a story that I had all by given up and was about to just re-read some of my old favorites (starting with the Han Solo Trilogy) but this book really came to my rescue.

I'd highly recommend it. It's a little long but it reads surprisingly fast. I was able to finish it off in a weekend. I was up most of Friday and Saturday night reading it (something I hadn't done since reading Harry Potter books 3 & 4).

If you want a book with some action and adventure, I think this would be a great book for you. Hope you like it as much as I did :)

The Orb of Chaos Vol. 1 No Rest for the Wicked by M. Ray Allen

Ramona i think you should give up books and go straight to youtubers for a while [this might ruin your life] or you could try the Infernal devices series, it gets better with each book

Sara Cinder by Marissa Meyer (The first book in The Lunar Chronicles), it is Dystopian sci-fi adventure fantasy and is AMAZING!!! So is the second book Scarlet. The Darkest Powers Trilogy by Kelley Armstrong, Also wonderful!!! It has werewolves and necromancers and witches and warlocks and half demons (The first Book is The Summoning). The Matched Trilogy by Ally Condie, It is Dystopian. The Study Trilogy by Maria V. Snyder, it's fantasy and awesome(The first book is Poison Study) I LOVE POISON STUDY. If you haven't read them already The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The Glitch Trilogy by Heather Anastasiu, It's a Dystopian sci-fi adventure trilogy. Under the Never Sky trilogy by Veronica Rossi, A Dystopian sci-fi adventure trilogy. Just to let you know all of the Dystopian sci-fi adventure trilogies have an element of fantasy to them also. The Song of the Lioness Quartet by Tamora Pierce (The first book is Alanna), Pure fantasy but I really like the girl power in it because it's about a girl who wants to be a knight and so she switches places with her twin brother who wants to be a sorcerer. I love Tamora Pierce's Books!!!!!. The Selection Trilogy by Kiera Cass. The Ruby Red Trilogy by Kerstin Gier. I LOVE All of these books!!!!!
