I didn't know that he was involved with that - I only know of the Hawkeye stuff... It is as good as people say - which says quite a bit.

Travis (travishiltz) | 196 comments Mark Waid's Daredevil!
Best thing marvel is currently doing right now.

His Hulk is pretty good too, just not thrilled with the artist.

Travis (travishiltz) | 196 comments Another couple:

Anything featuring the Invaders, marvel's World War two team. I picked up a couple trades of them at a convention.
They may be slightly X-related as Namor and Toro are counted as marvel's very first mutants.

I love Golden Age heroes and have loved nearly all the versions of the Invaders.
Happy to year marvel is doing a new Invaders series.

Travis (travishiltz) | 196 comments Anyone reading the New Valiant titles?

Not sure if the 'universe' they are building works, but the individual titles are all pretty solid.
Archer and Armstrong and Bloodshot are my current faves.
Harbinger is okay, but people here might like it , as it has a very 'X-men' vibe.

I don't know anything about those... are they something from Marvel or is this a different company?

Travis (travishiltz) | 196 comments Valiant is a different company.
History lesson:

Way back in the mists of time ( the 90's) there was a company named Valiant. They started by bringing back the old Gold Key heroes: Doctor Solar, Mangus and Turok and then created a bunch of new ones.
They also employed a bunch of marvel writers and artists.
They crashed and were relaunched a couple times.

This is the latest attempt and despite that it doesn't contain any of the old GK guys, seems to be the strongest.

Lisa (lisadannatt) | 211 comments So my husband is a devout Superman fan. His new glasses are Clark Kent-esque. He cycles and has bought himself a Man of Steel cycling outfit (complete with symbol of hope). And I know he's going to be picked on...
O well... Nerd and proud...right?

Travis (travishiltz) | 196 comments My daughter got me to read Young Avengers and I have been pleasantly surprised with how good a read it is.

The main set up arc has gone on a bit longer than I think it should, but I like these characters and am interested to see where they go from here.

Travis (travishiltz) | 196 comments William wrote: "Looks not bad and Kid Loki is awesome :D !"

Kid Loki is entertaining, but the series has a tendency to become 'Loki and his amazing friends'.

I'm hoping Loki getting his own series will mean the other YAers more room to breathe.

Travis (travishiltz) | 196 comments Well, Young Avengers ended, so my daughter has moved on to 'New Warriors', or as she likes to call it 'new New Warriors'.

Pretty decent. First arc is a bit overdone, by I like how the writer is basically taking a bunch of leftover heroes from other canceled series and turning them into a team.

Not sure where Namora got the name 'Water Snake'? Might be the lamest hero name in recent history.
