Divya (divyamohan0902) | 1 comments Hello guys, Divya here. I'm a newbie here, compared to the Manga veterans :D I've just started off on Rurouni Kenshin and One Piece and have been enjoying it so far. In other genres, I read almost anything that catches my eye because I'm weird like that (heheh). I look forward to discussing (and possibly, fangirling) manga and anime with all of you :)

You can only be a newbie for so long so I hope you discover all sorts of fun ways to use the site and you have fun while you are here. :)

By the way those are some good titles. A friend gave me a large format book of Rurouni Kenshin a while back ( should find it and finish it) and although I have only read One Piece up to the 15th book or so I have plans to buy a box set in the future (I know there are at least 3 now) and catch up a little bit. ( I am up to episode 490 or so though on the anime . Thank goodness for marathon modes. ) :)

anime: anything that's on Netflix, CR, Funimation, and Amazon strike. (trying to support the industry)

So, to finish up. If you all have something you could suggest be it whatever genre, please drop me a line. Also, completely unrelated to this group, but it kinda is, I've been reading a lot of LitRPG's which have seem to taken off since SAO. So if you have any suggestions there. Drop me a line. I'm always looking to make new friends on GR, so if you wanna friend request. go ahead.

Have a good one!

I've been a bit MIA from Goodreads groups so sorry for the late reply! I haven't seen Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul yet, but will definitely add it to my list!

And in Boku no hero academia, I definitely ship Uraraka with Midoriya. I can't help it, I think they're adorable together.

Selfless Achromatic (selfless_achromatic) | 3 comments Hello... My name is Abby. Aha.. It feels weird just giving out my name like that.. ANYWAYS I like reading most genres of manga.. I'm more into the emotional stuff that makes me cry for three hours and contemplate my life choices though. I wish I could read/speak Japanese as well. :v It'd be a lot easier to read the newest chapters of my manga faster.

Also my favorite manga is Pandora Hearts or Boku No Hero Academia. Okay bai I'll stop rambling.

Fairy Tail is amazing up until the last three arcs. In my opinion, it had a crappy ending, but the first few arcs are fantastic.

The main story of Fairy Tail is indeed complete at 63 volumes and 549 chapters. However it seems the novel is still publishing.

message 828: by Pasha (new)

Pasha Grisenkovs (pasha_) Hi, I'm Pasha. Im quite new to manga and anime so I've only read a few mangas such as Nisekoi and Tokyo Ghoul. I mostly watch anime but do occasionally read mangas and light novels.
I have quite odd tastes and don't really enjoy much 'meta' anime/manga.

message 829: by Doc (new)

Doc (docpersona) | 281 comments Hi Amy,
Tried To Your Eternity, Vol. 1 yet?

Hi Cassie,
Gonna say My Love Story!!, Vol. 1 because it is one of my faves even if it is more Shojo then slice. :)

Hi Hunter. I agree The Girl from the Other Side: Siúil, A Rún, Volume 1 is a great series like a fairy tail or something akin but with simple designs that still draw your attention. How about stuff from Kore Yamazaki?

Hi Pasha,
I personally enjoy parody and a bit of meta but we can't all share the same interests or the world would be a boring place. Good manga choices by the way. For new fans I always like to mention Black Butler, Vol. 1 but not the 1st two seasons of the anime unless you don't mind a mess. :)

That series is a classic and although I haven't read it myself one day I hope to get the 19 volumes since I know I like the anime. I hope you find all sort of interesting things here. :)

I like to read manga books along with watching anime.
My favourite manga and anime are Fruits Basket and Attack on Titan.

message 839: by Kenny P (new)

Kenny P Hi everyone, I joined this group a few days ago, and I have read a lot of manga. I took a break for about two years, but one of my friends loves Black Butler, so I decided to read it and I LOVE IT! I have read more than what is on my manga shelf, but I'm too lazy to put everything I've read on there. Some of my favorite series are Black Butler, Blue Exorcist, FMA, and +Anima.

Those are some great series and I hope you discover even more interesting series (I usually suggest Black Butler for the art, humor, and action) as time moves forever forward. :)

Hi Cat,
Black Butler is one of my favorites too (as seen right above this post) and I like your other series too even though I was a little surprised to see +Anima until I realized you also took a 2 year break so it is believable you caught this rare gem.
I find when putting books into good reads it is easiest to use the ISBN number (usually found around the UPC) and type it in the search books on top of the page. If put in right the exact book you have in your hand should pop up so you won't have to go through all the versions.
Oh! Let me ask you Cat...are you alive or dead? Radioactivity is nothing to scoff at. :)

Gage Lively | 5 comments Hi I’m Gage,

I stated watching anime a few years ago and got into manga from there. Seven Days Monday → Thursday (Seven Days, #1) by Venio Tachibana After reading Seven Days and the like I got into Yaoi, yeah, I’m a Fujoshi, guilty. I also love other genres, too. I’m up to date with the English licensed release of How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord Vol. 3 by Yukiya Murasaki and I also read light novels. Probably my favorite anime is My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected @ comic, Vol. 5 (manga) by Wataru Watari but I haven’t read the books yet. Hikigaya is one of my favorite anime/manga heroes of all time.

Hi Gage. :)
Personally I am not into yaoi myself (actually prefer to avoid it in general) but we all have different tastes which makes for a great, diverse community. Now just out of curiosity are you reading the manga too or just the light novels of How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord: Volume 1 because I have been considering trying the series though I might just stick with Spice and Wolf for the time being.

message 844: by Gage (new)

Gage Lively | 5 comments I am reading the light novels. I like them, but they can be a bit ecchi.
I don’t like when where the MC feels a character up (or more) for some made up magical reason.
I haven’t read the manga, but in my experience manga with a lot of action is hard to read. I tried several volumes of A Certain Scientific Accelerator before I gave up because the plot barely got started before the volumes were over. JMO though!

Have you tried どうしても触れたくない Doushitemo Furetakunai by Kou Yoneda yet? YONEDA Kou and YAMANE Ayano are my fav BL mangakas.

I haven't seen s2 of Oregairu but s1 was so good and I definitely plan to try the manga&LN at some point.
I say that but I've had the first vol of The Irregular at Magic High School, Vol. 1 Enrollment Arc, Part I (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, #1) by Tsutomu Satou & the first 5 vols of Re ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, Vol. 1 (Re Zero Light Novels, #1) by Tappei Nagatsuki for like 1-1.5years and still haven't read them despite loving the animes for both lol, so.
