What's up Eh tha lay, I've surprisingly haven't met many people who've watched Code Geass. It's up there in my top 5 animes. How is All Lull in the sea?

Hi, my name is Dani and I love to read Manga, Comics and I watch Anime. I love supernatural, angsty, sports and slice of life manga but I read about anything if the story catches my eye and the characters are awesome. For me it's characters before plot so if I don't like or connect with characters I won't read it. I currently stay low with Anime because I wanna read the Manga first usually but my favourite anime is Free! and I currently watch Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I also have a youtube channel where I talk about what I read.

Hi there Dani. I know what you mean. I try to read books before I see any movies they are based upon. Some manga are just better than their anime counterparts. I wonder if I read Black Butler before watching it if I would have liked it better in anime form now though.

My name is Bri and I absolutely love to read manga (specifically shoujo although I am open to try any genre. Currently I am reading a slew of series that without Goodreads I would never remember for the life of me! While I don't buy manga, I work in two different library systems with 17 branches in each one (totaling 34 branches combined) so while they may not have every manga/volume I would like, they certainly have plenty to choose from!

Hi Bri, you are so lucky to have such a great library system. I do not buy manga either as I have a great library system in my community too. I must say I do not think I will ever run out of manga to check out. I also have access to DVD's and BluRay's through my system.

I have access to blu-rays through one of the systems but not the other. With my work schedule though, I don't really have time to watch television! >_<

Hi! My name is Valerie and, like all of you here, I love to watch anime and read manga. I haven't read as many as I would like, though. I've only read a handful of mangas, although I'm reading 7 that are currently publishing.
My favorite genre for both anime and manga is shounen fantasy. I also like psychological and romance.
My favorite mangas are InuYasha, Noragami and FullMetal Alchemist. My favorite animes are also the adaptation of these three, plus Zankyou no Terror, Sword Art Online, and Ushio to Tora (TV).

Of course :) It's not as good as the first one because the arcs were longer in the manga but had to be shortened in the anime, but it was still amazing.

Welcome to the group. I agree with Manga>Anime though it is nice to see some of your favorites animated even if they sacrifice some of the story or change it completely because they are running out of time or not enough manga has been released yet.

So far the only anime I don't particularly care for has been the Black Butler 2nd season where it seemed they had to end on a happier note considering Ciel's cost to play the game (if anyone doesn't know what I am talking about you should be reading Black Butler or at least see the last episode of the 1st season.)

Hey there Husnah. Romance is certainly not for everyone but thankfully there are many non romance anime and books out there to choose from. :)

I for one just picked up Platinum End, Vol. 2 which is from the same people that brought us Death Note.

Hey everyone! My name is L.C. Perry and I am in love with anime. I also read manga as well but I'm more likely to watch anime because it's easier to access for me :)
I'm also an author and I have a trilogy out right now that was influenced largely by anime haha.
Some favorites of mine are Naruto, Bleach, FMA/FMAB, My Hero Academia, Akatsuki no Yona, Noragami and Katekyo Hitman Reborn.

I've been reading Platinum End since it started and, to be honest, it's not that great. It's good (the art is fantastic), but it's not exciting. For me, at least. It's like Mirai Nikki and Death Note mixed together.

Hi Valerie, I wouldn't know until I check it out as I've not read Mirai Nikki. Moreover I'm more immersed in the 2 animes that I've mentioned aboved, One piece and Shokugeki no Soma which I followed every updates closely and is a huge fan :)

here are some manga recs
-one of the first mangas I ever read, I can't rec it enough
-fantastic if you want a hilarious manga
-BnHA is probably my favorite manga ever now

I haven't read the mangas for these series but the animes are great:
-all foodporn and ecchi, but even if ecchi isn't your thing this is still a great series to get into for the plot and characters. also the food.



-by the same mangaka as FMA (first rec); a much more lighthearted series overall
-by the same mangaka as OPM (second rec); lots of humor, but a much more serious series

also there's SnK. I don't personally like the art style so I only watch the anime, but it's a good series.

Gotta admit whenever a new Black Butler comes out I am picking it up as soon as i can. I miss not having to wait a year for each volume though...ah well. Other series I am up to date with and looking forward to the next volume are The Ancient Magus' Bride, Vol. 1, Fairy Tail, Vol. 1, and recently thanks to a buy 2 get 1 free sale at B&N My Love Story!!, Vol. 1. :)

I have been reading an interesting Viz title called 7th Garden, Vol. 1 which is a tale about a demoness who was once an angel but was betrayed by her kin and now she seeks revenge. I also like to suggest The Ancient Magus' Bride, Vol. 1 which has a lot of supernatural elements and magic (of course) and the main male character is half unseelie from what I gather making him rather demon like. Finally I started reading the The Girl from the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún Vol. 1 which deals with a curse that turns people into demons and how one demon is trying to protect a normal looking little girl. I should pick up volume two soon to get an explanation of the end of volume 1. :)

These sound interesting! And I've definitely seen The Ancient Magus' Bride and The Girl from the Other Side a good handful of times. I'll definitely look into these titles once I'm caught up with the ones I own :) Thanks a bunch for the suggestions :D

Hi Karen. I know what you mean about budgeting manga. I save up a little each pay period to make sure I got money for buy 2 get 1 free sales. I almost have all of Kamisama Kiss coming soon and last year I acquired 31 to I believe 50 something of Fairy Tail so I have been able to keep up easier now. :)
Have you seen Soul Eater Not! yet? I haven't read it myself but it looked fun.

Have you tried Clockwork Planet 1? Same guy as No Game No Life. Also you should try 7th Garden, Vol. 1 which is put out by the thankfully cheaper Viz organization. Be sure to look at my list for ideas if you want. :)
