Steven (slashsmugface) | 12 comments From what I remember this novel is about a young boy, probably 12-13, who is living in a post-revolutionary America. However, the Americans didn't win the war. I don't remember many plot points, but I do remember the boy meeting Benjamin Franklin. They were in a hot, humid area, and Ben Franklin had created some sort of air conditioner.

I remember reading this in 2007-8. It may have been above my reading level at the time (I was 11-12) because I remember not understanding much. It was a paperback and seemed quite old. I don't remember the cover, but I think it was red.

Any help is appreciated. Feel free to ask questions. Thanks.

Do you remember if this was strictly an Alternate History book, or were there Paranormal elements to it too? Fae, Spirits, anything like that?

I'm very sure it was strictly an alternate history.

Isabel (kittiwake) | 132 comments Could it be Seventh Son or another of the Alvin Maker series? Benjamin Franklin is apparently mentioned a lot although he doesn't actually appear.

I don't think so. There was no magic and it was grounded in reality. Thanks for the help though.
