Which Television Shows Are You Watching This Fall

http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...
...is a good place to discuss TV shows with GoodReads people, because they have a separate topic for a number of TV shows.
Having said that, I did enjoy the pilot of Sleepy Hollow. Looks like it could be interesting.
I watched the pilot of Ironside on Hulu last week. I probably won't be watching it. It seemed to be preaching that police brutality is fine as long as it gets the job done.
I also watched the pilot of Welcome to the Family on Hulu. It had a few laughs, but I doubt I will be tuning in, unless nothing is opposite it.
Oh, there's also a TV group here on GoodReads:
http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/4105

Both of those groups look interesting.
However I was kinda hoping to stir up some small talk here in the Zombies! Group in general.
As for me, I do not watch much many shows in the traditional weekly viewing method.
If I find an interesting show, I tend to watch it online either at the shows website or via Netflix or hulu.
We have decided to become amazon prime members later this month or for a Christmas present in Dec.
But two current TV series that I follow are
Teen Wolf
http://www.mtv.com/shows/teen_wolf/vi...
And revolution
http://www.nbc.com/revolution/episode...

I watch -
The Walking Dead (figured zombies should go first)
Sons of Anarchy
Suits
White Collar
Sherlock (BBC)
The Killing
Supernatural (the best show ever!)
Dexter
Justified
Person of Interest
I'm sure something is missing.
I plan to try the new show Blacklist. I have been watching Revolution, but find it a bit boring.

I haven't tried Sherlock but have thought about it. I tend to struggle with British humor. Often when I read books written by British authors, there are misses with words, dialogue (slang) is choppy/quick/lacking in rhythm, the often there is a disrespectful way that Americans are portrayed and of course location references make little sense to me. So by and large I shy away from British shows/books.
Other than Dexter, which I tried and disliked
and Person of interest which I tried and was bored with, I do not know any of the other shows on your list.
Correction: I do know of the Walking Dead, I watched the first full season and then it became too melodramatic for my taste.
Who sleeps with whom. Who's the daddy drama and so on is not my kind of thing.

We recently got a Netflix account (moved to the modern age!) so I'll get to catch up on regular TV viewing. Mostly I'm a movie person, rather than TV shows.

You can tell it which shows you follow and get an email on a day when new episodes of those shows are airing.
I have about 70 shows listed. :)
Also, a list of the new shows coming up:
http://followshows.com/new-tv-shows
For my TV grid, I use TitanTV. Love it. In my browser, I always have two tabs open -- one with my favorite TV shows, and one with movies. And they have a checkbox so you can see all of the shows that are new. And it can display up to 6 hours of time.
Each day, I look at the 7pm-1am timeframe and see which new shows are on.

I too have noticed the difference. I would like to say that it is probably ME!
It is super rare that I find someone who agrees on the same titles as I do. Meh, such is life. ;-)
Which is why I often attempt to point out that my views (reviews) are just mine, and that I make no claims of being anything that a reader/simple country gal.

Wow, and I thought Netflix was amazing. Between the free zombie book thread, Netflix, and now followshows.com, I may never have time to go to work!

I started Amazon Prime when I bought my first Kindle two years or so ago (has it been that long?).
I love it. But mainly because I can get the 2-day delivery on so many things. I've even ordered something at just after midnight and gotten it that afternoon.
I just found out this week that a lot of new TV episodes get posted there the day of/after being broadcast, similar to Hulu, except they have CBS shows as well, which Hulu does not. And they are free with Amazon Prime.
I missed the ends of Under the Dome, Bones, and Sleepy Hollow this week (because of my bad sleeping patterns this year), so just went over to Amazon and watched the last 10-15 minutes of the episodes.
And NO commercials!

Almost Human
The Tomorrow People
Full Circle
Shield (maybe)
What looks good to you all?

Just think if you had Amazon Prime! :)

Sleepy Hollow
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
The Blacklist
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Lucky 7
Ironside (which I'm now thinking of dropping)
The Originals
The Tomorrow People (US)
Once Upon A Time In Wonderland
Dracula (2013)
Crossbones
Almost Human
Wayward Pines
Intelligence (US)
Resurrection (2013)

Since we are finally settled in after our move in early spring, I figure as a family we can get one Prime account to share.
My son (college age) does not read much so I plan on hogging all the amazon book loans :D.
As I recall there were a fair amount of shows that were on Prime, that I do not see on NetFlix.
Yet I am finally starting to enjoy NetFlix. When I am at work, I can watch shows on my tablet. :D
When I am at home, I read in my spare time.
Since we started up Netflix we do have "family viewing" time when I growl at my son until comes out of his room and watches a show with me (we have the ROKU set up on the living-room TV).
With my internet, nexflix, and now the Prime account fees, I might as well get cable, which I have sworn off doing because no one watches it enough to make it pay for itself.

Wow, when do you find time to read?

During the commercials. :)
I have a big recliner on one side of the room. My computer monitor is on a swing arm that puts the monitor in front of me. Wireless keyboard on my prodigious tummy. Wireless mouse on the armrest. 65" Plasma TV 12 feet across the room. Kindle on the table next to me.
Worst thing is when I fall asleep while doing something on the computer (I do sleep in my recliner instead of a bed because of a back problem) and the mouse slides off the armrest onto the floor, and the trackball pops out and goes *somewhere* and I have to find it. Sometimes under the recliner, sometimes on the other side of the room.
But I'll probably end up with 3 or 4 of those shows.

:)

Now I know why you're behind in the buddy read.
Not that I don't fall behind. I've got two books I've finished for my reading challenge but not written a review for.
Well I just caved in and watched the first episode of Sherlock on Netflix.
They speak to quickly and mumble. Thank goodness for close caption.
The mystery wasn't what I was expecting for a Sherlock Holmes mystery. The murderer confessed more than Sherlock worked out about the mystery.
I'm not sure what to make of the way Sherlock was reinvented but I approve of the new Dr Watson.
The settings seemed blah and what's up with the whole walk don't walk symbols in the Chase scene? Was that humorous? Or simply cheesy?
Meh

I never heard of it before.

Pass ;)

I recall watching at least one of the Rocky movies in my youth.
I believe it was called, The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I believe it was called, The Rocky Horror Picture Show"
LMAO! That was the best one.
I was really hoping that season 5 of Metalocalypse would have started by now. Mark Hamill claimed it was in production, but Brendon Small says it isn't.
Until The Walking Dead returns I won't watch much TV besides cartoons and football. Go Gators! I've been catching Adventure Time a lot lately. It's really funny and weird.

TTYL

It may take me a day or so. That time slot is a full one for me. I won't miss NCIS, plus Whose Line Is It Anyway? is there as well.
So I'll have to wait until SHIELD shows up on Hulu or Amazon (many pilot episodes have been free there, with no commercials).
I'm pretty stoked about SHIELD. I think everyone's expectations are pretty high.
We watched the premiere of Castle last night. I find it difficult to get back into some of these shows because the seasons are so short and the breaks are so long. What ever happened to 26 episode seasons? It seems a lot of them are pretty teensy these days.
We watched the finale of Dexter last night as well. It was... hmmm. I have mixed feelings on that one. I don't want to spoil it if anyone hasn't watched it yet.

Randy,
I have no problem waiting a couple days to talk about SHIELD. Work was a killer today. The previous shift had not restocked or cleaned. Grrr.
I went in to see my boss and found out that sales are way down, Yikes!
So I'm dead tired and stressed, with zero chocolate in the house.
I plan to make something simple for dinner and wrap up in a good book.
I'll set a timer for 8 PM but if I miss it, I'll watch it on ABC website when it is posted.

Elizabeth,
I agree with you about the hype setting up high expectations. Probably no way to avoid it through. Superheroes are very popular in times of

As are dystopians and post apocalyptic ( Revolution, The Walking Dead and so on.)
They used to say that you could judge how a nations economic climate was doing based on how short the nation's women were wearing their skirts.
I think that you can judge how a nations economic and political climate is doing based on the popular movie/TV/book themes.
As always this is all just my views. :-)

Ever see David Armand's mimed version? Hilarious:

Every time I watch one of his "interpretative dances", I end up watching another 3 or 4.

There is no way I would have been able to guess that he was miming out that song!
It was both hilarious and totally not funny. I'll leave you to work out what I'm saying.
