For those of you who would like to hear and see the author; here is a conversation that Charlie Rose had with the author nine years ago. Charlie Rose was interviewing Barzun because of the publishing of his new book (at that time) :"From Dawn to Decadence". At the time of his publishing this book and recording this interview; he was almost 94 years old. Wow. He is still living and is 102 (will be 103 in a little over five months). What a tremendous career.

Jacques Barzun received a Lifetime Achievement award from Gemini Inc; it looks like this was awarded at the end of 2007 (almost a year and a half ago).

Barzun appears to be in his home in Texas receiving the award and delivering some acceptance and gratitude remarks. It appears that now he seems to be a bit more reflective of his great grandmother born in 1830 who he says influenced him a great deal; he also reflects upon the atmosphere that he grew up in while in Paris. I think these reflections say alot about this man and his beginnings. An interesting video (Barzun is 100 in this video !)

Very impressive still.
