I'd like to read Middlesex. I know absolutely nothing about cricket, so Ponting would either be really good or really bad!

Trinity I'll read Delirium with you if you'd like. I've read a little bit but haven't gotten around to getting back to it.
Hey, would anyone be interested in reading any of these books?1. Is everyone hanging out without me? By Mindy Kaling
2. Office Girl by Joe Mino
3. Attachment by Rainbow Rowell
4. Just one Day by Gale Foremen
5. Eleanor & Park Rainbow Rowell
6. The cuckoo's Calling

I would be interested in starting Ulysses in May. I'm stuck on Gravity's Rainbow so my head might explode. I'ld be much better with June.

I've added you Ramesh
Ramesh wrote: "Thanks Zara.Is that for Ulysses or Middlesex?"
Ulysses. Did you want Middlesex as well or instead of Ulysses?
Good luck to everyone doing Ulysses. It's quite a challenge. I've tried three times, and I just can't do it. I don't think I've made it past the first hundred pages.

I don't think I'll be ready for Ulysses, especially with all the groaning on the thread. lol. seriously struggling already with Pynchon & it will spillover to at least May. Any takers for Gravity's Rainbow?
Maybe Ulysses could be a two month thing? May and June? Even though I want to read it soon I have exams in May so I might not be able to finish such a difficult sounding book.
Lilac wrote: "Maybe Ulysses could be a two month thing? May and June? Even though I want to read it soon I have exams in May so I might not be able to finish such a difficult sounding book."Hi Lilac, I'd be quite happy to turn Ulysses into a two month thing. That's probably really wise.

I'll add a thread for this book for the May buddy reads.
For those of us who'll be reading 1Q84 beginning in May: As this is a trilogy what do you all think about us reading one book a month over a three month period? Or would you prefer to leave it as is?
awesome! This will give me some incentive to read it instead of picking up random new books at the library haha
Zara wrote: "For those of us who'll be reading 1Q84 beginning in May: As this is a trilogy what do you all think about us reading one book a month over a three month period? Or would you prefer ..."I have the Audible book, which has all 3 parts, but I think I'll be able to tell where each part ends. I may add the Kindle version, which will let me switch between reading and listening. I do see that that one definitely notes where each of the 3 books begins and ends.
I'm not opposed to stretching this one over 3 months, particularly since I'll also be reading Ulysses and some other books of 500+ pages.
Hey Zara, Alison and I are planning to read The Fault in Our Stars sometime in May. Can we get that set up as a buddy read, please? And if anyone else is interested in reading and discussing with us, we'd love you to join in!

Of course you can Kathryn. I'll do that a bit later on today. I'm about to go out to a Tupperware party.

No hurry! Have fun!

I managed to sneak it in. It's up for you now.

Hi Alexis!! I'm interesting in reading any of these:
1-Just one Day by Gale Foremen
2-Eleanor & Park Rainbow Rowell
3-The cuckoo's Calling
It would have to be in June though, if that's okay? and any of these would be fine for me!
Anyone want to read anything by Charles Dickens in July or (preferably) August? I've already read A Tale of Two Cities, Oliver Twist, A Christmas Carol and Great Expectations, but any of the others would be fine. I bought a collection with all or most of his books and don't know which to read first.
Jodi wrote: "I am looking to read The Thorn Birds probably starting in the middle to end of next week."This is a wonderful book. I couldn't put it down when I read it, but I'm not ready for something new just yet. Would be willing in the future though.
Tanesha wrote: "Is there anyone interested in readingThe Husband's Secret with me. I am starting September 23rd. Thanks."I've read this book and it is wonderful!
Theresa~OctoberLace wrote: "Zara, among other books, I've got both The Emperor of All Maladies and Fatherland next month, so can we start Middlemarch in November?"I'd also like to finish Middlemarch around November. Let me know if others want to read this book too.

I plan to read at least one of his books this summer, leaning toward Bleak House to start in the second half of July. I already have both the Kindle and Audiobook versions ready. Would you be interested in that one?
Jackie wrote: "Theresa~OctoberLace wrote: "Zara, among other books, I've got both The Emperor of All Maladies and Fatherland next month, so can we start Middlemarch in Nov..."Jackie, you picked up on an old post from last year. We originally planned Middlemarch for November 2013, but life got in the way, and it was re-scheduled for March of this year. Quite appropriately, I finished in the middle of March and thoroughly enjoyed the book. I hope you find some readers to join in with you for another buddy read of this one.
Ramsha wrote: "Has anyone read Wonder or is someone going to read it???please tell me"Ramsha, are inquiring about Wonder by R.J. Palacio? I have not read that one, but a much younger friend has, and she loved it. It's not in my plans, but hopefully you can find someone to read it with you.
Are there any other buddy reads that people would like to have happen in July? We currently only have four.
Theresa~OctoberLace wrote: "Lilac wrote: "Anyone want to read anything by Charles Dickens in July or (preferably) August? I've already read A Tale of Two Cities, Oliver Twist, A Christmas Carol and Great Expe..."Yes, Theresa, Bleak House would be great. :)
Shall we make it a July buddy read then?
Yeah, good plan. I didn't realise it was that long. Seems I'll be reading many very long books this summer.
Lilac and Theresa I'll set the thread up for Bleak House now. I admire you both for wanting to read this book.
Is anyone interested in reading
with me ?I know it's a well known book for the book worms but I haven't really got a chance to read it until now!I would like to start reading it on 1st of July!
Does anybody wants to read Books of Blood, Vols. 1-3 with me in October? I have it in my TBR list for ever and I think that October is a great moment to read it.
Mahsa wrote: "Is anyone interested in reading

Adam and I are planning to read Winter of the World by Ken Follett in August. This is part two of the Century Trilogy....part 3 is due to be published in September 2014. Would any participants in the Feb-March Fall of Giants Buddy Read (or anybody) like to join in?
I'll join in Winter of the World! I need to read Fall of Giants First but I'm definitely in because I want to be able to read the third one when it comes out in September.
Lynn, Adam, and Lilac, I've already read Fall of Giants and Winter of the World, so I hope you enjoy those. Edge of Eternity is the final book of the trilogy, due out 9/16/14. Would you be interested in a Buddy Read for that one in November and December? That would give readers time to finish the first two and get a copy of the third.
Cosmic wrote: "Please add me to bleak house. I have read it once but would like to revisit it with you."Cosmic, there are only a couple of us planning to read Bleak House, so I'm glad to see you'll be joining, too. I'm hoping to start that one next week.
Cosmic wrote: "Please add me to bleak house. I have read it once but would like to revisit it with you."Added you Cosmic.

I think books this size are especially good for buddy reads. I'd love to read book 3 in Nov/Dec.
