This book is a lot darker than I was expecting.

(view spoiler)[Not much to report so far. I think the alien invasion is very well written. It makes sense that they would get rid of Earth's inhabitants before moving to the planet themselves.

I made it to ch. 57, but I will only discuss what you have read so far.

(view spoiler)[ I like the approach that the author took. It feels more like Post Apocalyptic instead of Science Fiction and action. I'm glad you started reading it though because I hate reading heavy books like this by myself. lol (hide spoiler)]

They are making a movie for this and there is a trailer. It is kind of spoilery so I wouldn't watch it unless you have gotten to chapter 57 or higher.

Cassie - (view spoiler)[At times she makes me a a little mad. I get that she is going through a lot. Although, there is no need for her to be rude to the one person who is trying to help her. (hide spoiler)]

Evan - (view spoiler)[Seems like a nice guy. We don;t know a lot about him yet. It's nice how he took in Cassie and has been helping her survive. Especially, since she was injured. (hide spoiler)]

Sammy - (view spoiler)[It sucks that they tried to wipe his memory. Although he still hasn't truly forgotten Cassie. It will be interesting to see what the camp is actually trying to do with the kids. (hide spoiler)]


I did know that they were making a movie. If the book is good then I will most likely watch it.

I'm up to Chapter 67. The author did a bad job with how he set up this book. Some chapters are harder to figure out who it's about. I'm still waiting to find out what Nugget, Zombie, and those guys are all up to.

I'm finished. Overall it was good. I just didn't like how at times it was confusing because you weren't sure who it was about. One thing that shocked me was (view spoiler)[how Evan was really an alien (hide spoiler)]. I'm just glad that he was on the good side of that whole mess. I'm glad that (view spoiler)[they found Sammy and were able to rescue him (hide spoiler)]. I don't know about you but the author was setting this up to be a love triangle type thing and that is not okay. I'm getting tired of those.

(view spoiler)[I figured that Evan was an alien because of how the book began, but I was surprised that zombie was Ben Parish.

I agree that a love triangle seems to be in the works, and I really don't like those. I will say that I like both Evan and Ben so right now either one would be a good choice.

The think I didn't like was how many POVs I had to keep up with. Just when I go used to one person they switched POVs on me. And I didn't love the explanation of what the aliens are. I prefer a more concrete explanation.

I still really liked it though and will definitely continue the series. (hide spoiler)]
