I'm not sure what chapter I'm up to as I was listening to it in the car but I have about an hour to go (view spoiler)[Beck has found the box in the whole in the wall. It was so obvious that she would when he gave her the key. To me that was just plain dumb. They are arguing and he sounds so rational when he shoots down everything she says. I don't know if it comes across that way in the book but the narrater is doing a really good job on this. Joe is so believable and he makes is sound like Beck is the crazy one. (hide spoiler)]

Seriously how could they think that was suicide? He left a mug full of his own urine in the house. Why he didn't just pee in the sink is beyond me. The story is way too flawed to be believable. having just read the book THEN binge-watched the show i definitely agree it was better to read before watch if you plan on doing both. the book was wayyyy creepier and i also felt like Joe and Beck were more likeable in the tv show than the book. there are plenty of subtle differences except for the ending???? uhm yah. now i want to read the second book asap to see if it connects or if that ending is going to be one of the major differences in season 2 of the show, too.

@Jill i am actually reading the second book (hidden bodies) right now and so far it seems very similar to the first book, but i have also heard mixed things about it. i am trying not to read too much spoilery since i am only about 30% in but will let you know how i liked it (without being spoilery) when i get further along or done. are you liking the tv show or book better?

Interesting! Yes let me know how you like it! I'm only on chapter 7 of the book, so I can't form an opinion yet. So far it's good and similar to the show. I feel like I might be biased though because I have had a crush on Penn Badgley since high school because of Gossip Girl :P
