yes, the series is amazing. plus they are making a movie on it, and dylan o'brien from teen wolf is playing thomas. Also, I got super connected to all the characters and some surprising stuff happens

If above 3 stars, then read the rest. Why not read both series, though?
The rest of the series is really good! You should keep reading! Best series ever <3
The rest of the series is kind of confusing...they get into the history a lot more. if you like the characters as they are as of the end of book 1, stop reading. Come up with your own ending. However, if you feel like any of the characters are underdeveloped, or you are simply to curious to stop, then by all means, keep reading! However, remember this: when you do decide, if you read on, what you learn cannot be unlearned.
I didn't really like The Maze Runner, but I think that's down to the characters being so pointlessly cryptic with Thomas. The Scorch Trials is really good though.
Death Cure is so-so.
And as for the Kill Order.....just don't even go there. It's crap!!!
The only decent book is the second one.
So all in all, this entire series seriously sucks lemons!

whatever^^^ I thought they were great. Some people are so stuck on the stupid as cliche dystopian, that they can't accept a great book as such. It's sad, really. I've read literally, over twenty dystopian books...let me tell you, they all sucked. MR was the best one I read, along with UNWIND, Enclave, and Divergent. Any of those, I suggest as well.
@ Vee - Unwind & Divergent are probably my most favourite dystopian books!!! And Enclave is on my 'to-read' list. But the Maze Runner SUCKED!!!
That's not fact, it is merely my opinion. It's ok that you thought it was great.....but I thought it was crap. And THAT should be ok as well. lol
Don't. The first book is really great but after that.... I don't think it should be a trilogy. One book was fine. :(
I do think you should read them though....if only to form your own opinion!Word of advice though: The Kill Order is only a prequel and has absolutely NOTHING to do with Thomas and Co. A seriously pointless book!
But by all means - give it a go.
After all, YOU are the only judge when it comes to reading books you like. ;-)

The second is ok but the last is horrible and the ending is the worst. I was so disappointed. It felt like someone who never read the others rote the book.

The Kill Order, is related to the rest of the Maze Runner series, even if it doesn't seem that way for most of the book. The little girl, is someone that is Immune in the series, now you could guess who that is. No spoilers.

it says that her name is deedee?
im confused... I shall recheck the books now.
Her name was originally deedee. Remember that WICKED gave them all new names? Hint Hint... (Read the epilogue more carefully) :p
pmsl@ Noa - I am aware that it's related to the rest of the series....but let's be honest here, it was a pointless book and useless to the rest of the series!
You didn't find out any more information than you already knew, right?
I rest my case!!!
In my opinion, the Maze Runner is by far the best book in the entire series. The next two are highly action packed. If you are looking for action, you will enjoy them. I was hoping for more of a story and a little less action, so I really didn't enjoy them.
You might as well. I personally didn't like The Scortch Trials but I am enjoying Death Cure..... So far anyway...
It's interesting how some people don't like this series. I thought it was one of the most creative I've read. You can check out my review of The Scorch Trials at http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Maze Runner was decent if only because you were just dying to find out what was really going on. I was VERY disappointed with the rest of the series, but I won't elaborate as to why (so I don't ruin it for you, just in case). I wish I had just read Maze Runner, and left it at that.

I only liked the Maze Runner, which I am just about done with because I wanted to see what the maze was. I'm really tired of Thomas being to blame for everything so I'm worried about reading the rest of the books.
I liked them all, just the maze runner was my favorite, and I was barely able to get through the kill order
no, you shouldn't. I really only liked the first one. I couldn't even get past the first half of the second one. James Dashner has a way of emphasizing the gore and violence that makes it hard to get through at points. he also drags out the things you really want to know which just made me bored
the second one wasn't bad, I just would have preferred if Dashner hadn't dragged things out, you know what I mean? in the maze runner there were all these secrets and things the reader didn't know and I felt like, for me to really get hooked in the second book, he should have explained some thigns about WICKED sooner
I loved the second one more than I did the first. But... I couldn't finish the 3rd. I just couldn't...

it was just disturbing, if it hadn't gotten into that much detail, maybe, I didn't like how people I liked died
the maze runner was great, and then it was like watching something decompose as the series progresses...
IS this book good? I'm considering reading it, but I'm not sure if I should. I have seen quite a few people reading it though. Any input?
Cherie wrote:"It's supposed to evoke disturbing mental images of horror.. That's the point... "no, i meant the quality of the story...and the only thing that evoked horror for me was the fact that it went from "woah" to "meh"
really? well that's kinda depressing. That actually scares me that I read something like 'that' (That as in how you explained it)P.S yes the book is AMAZING, tons of people will argue that the last two are not good, but its you oppinion
Depends... What genres are you interested in? The maze runner trilogy is sort of a zombie-esque post apocalyptical thriller with a lot of action. Character development is there, but it's not fantastic. The plot is really great though.
