I have to say Jennie I don't think you're a Slytherin at all. I'd say you would be in Ravenclaw tower with me.

Reading this chapter, I feel bad for the Slytherins a bit. This is now 10 years since Voldemort was killed and there's still so much prejudice against Slytherin. Ron is still spouting off that every evil witch and wizard was from Slytherin (which we know isn't true, Peter Pettigrew). How damaging is that for an 11 who gets sorted into Slytherin (who isn't a Malfoy) to hear?
The sorting hat says in this book that Slytherin is for the cunning, which I think is a word with a somewhat negative connotation in our society, but to be cunning doesn't mean that you are automatically evil.
I definitely feel there is some self fulfilling prophecy going on here. You get sorted into Slytherin where everyone else then tells you that's the house for bad guys and treats you like a bad guy, sooner or later aren't you going to start to believe that you are a bad person?
