Rebecca Still reading, but have to be honest I'm enjoying way more than I thought I would. Reading this on the heels of A Casual Vacancy ( which was a major disappointment), I was not expecting to like it.

Rebecca Still muddling through this one...is anyone else reading it and enjoying it?? Or not enjoying it.. reasons..

Myra (myraelise) | 34 comments There are so many holds on this at my library, I'll be lucky to get it before 2014.

Baqash | 106 comments Fortuantely I was able to get it as i was the first to request it from my small local library before it was purchased by them. my "review" follows: if you like detective novels, a good read. Nice character development. Bogs down a little in the middle much like a couple of her longer HP books did, but then picks up again. You are left guessing to the end "who done it."

I enjoyed it more than casual vacancy, perhaps just because it was a different style. Comparing Harry Potter with Casual Vacancy with Cuckoo's calling you can see Rowling displaying her versatility.

If there is a sequel I will likely read it whereas a sequel to casual vacancy i would not.

I'm number 364 on the list at my library. They have 25 copies but I think it's still going to be a while, lol.

Rebecca I was not overly impressed, while I found it to be far better than Casual Vacancy, I didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped. I agree it really lagged in the middle ..terribly so. I had the killer pegged before the end..I'm not sure if I will read a sequel..
It could be that J.K.Rowling just isn't for me, as I didn't enjoy HP either ,( I know.. my kids look at me like I have horns coming out of head..)
