Hi! I'm Linda. I searched for Historical Fantasy & found no hits, yet authors I read are listed here as Goodreads authors, & I found more--new ones.

So, I've started a group where we lovers of History with a Twist can meet & greet.

I'm having fun writing my series Sidonia the Sorceress. A book was written in the Eighteenth century that showed Sidonia as a mean cruel woman. I want to show her side. The first book, Wolgast Castle, takes place against the backdrop of the Holy Roman Empire, witch burning, religious struggle both within Christianity & with the Muslim Ottoman Empire.

Then I start traversing all of Europe. It'll be fun.

Alma Alexander | 8 comments I'm ALma Alexander, and I love (and write) historical fantasy. Two of my books which might of interest to folks are "Secrets of Jin Shei" and "Embers of Heaven". My favourite historical fantasy writer would probably have to be Guy Gavriel Kay (and "Tigana" is my favourite novel EVER, probably...)

I've got one other historical fantasy novel shopping around for a publisher right now, a story based on the historical Justinian and Theodora in old Byzantium.

Holler if you've any questions about any of these - or mosey past my website at www.AlmaaLexander.org and see if they've already been answered there...

What kind of experience have you authors had in publishing your book or having it (them) published? Anything you wished hadn't happened that did? Or the other way?

Tomorrow, I'm writing my last blog (of 30) for my book blog tour!

message 16: by Mark (new)

Mark | 15 comments I have just found this group - it looks interesting. Historical Fantasy is one of my favourite genres - and I am also an author of some historical fiction/fantasy - see Mark Lord as well as editing the short story publication Alt Hist Alt Hist Issue 5 by Mark Lord .

I see that I can add titles to the bookshelves, so if that's OK I will do that. But I am here to join in the discussion rather than promote my work!

Amy Lignor (httpwwwgoodreadscomalignor) | 7 comments I want to thank Beth for inviting me. I am a HUGE historical fantasy lover, reader, writer of, and advocate for! LOL. I look forward to meeting everybody and weighing in on the conversations! The Sapphire Storm (Tallent & Lowery, #2) by Amy Lignor

Stephanie Dray (stephaniedray) | 2 comments Oh, my goodness. At long last, I have finally found my people! I write historical fantasy, and both of those genres seem as if they have a great deal in common, to me.

I'm a big fan of Judith Tarr, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Diana Paxson, and authors of their ilk!

I'm not here to promo, but by way of introducing what I write and what I love:
Lily of the Nile (Cleopatra's Daughter, #1) by Stephanie Dray Song of the Nile (Cleopatra's Daughter, #2) by Stephanie Dray Daughters of the Nile (Cleopatra's Daughter, # 3) by Stephanie Dray

Welcome to the group. I think we need to try to spread the word though as it's fairly quiet around here at the moment!
