I also just really hate Tess right now, and I want her to stop behaving like a jealous not-so-kind-word and be the supportive sister figure that she was. Also, I don't mind Anden being manipulated by June, but if she falls in love with him and this turns out to be some SJM bullshit then I will blow a gasket.

I am now very irritated by the constant doubt and denial and jealousy(in Day's case) that these two seem to be going through, and I just really want them to be back in love or something before one of them does something unforgivable. (hide spoiler)]

I needed a little refresher (between June's family and Day's family, they have suffered so much at the hands of the Republic), so the train scene was helpful, but now that they're in Las Vegas, they are right back in harm's way with the soldier's all around. (view spoiler)[So far, I wasn't picking up any real signs of "love" and then in the bathroom scene when Day pronounced his love for June, I think my eyes bugged out. Totally awkward timing. Now I understand more of your inst-love comments. :) And maybe I'm not totally sold on the severity of Day's (and June's) situation, but it seemed totally out of character for them both to agree to kill Anden so quickly. Taking a life should require more than a few sentences of thought.

Now, I really, really hope that Tess isn't into Day the way he thinks she is. Seems like an unnecessary love triangle.

Chapter 8 - Page 129 - 33%
(view spoiler)[Oh dang! Metias was into Thomas (and maybe those feelings were reciprocated-I can't really tell). Hearing more about their backstory and friendship makes Metias's final moments all that more heartbreaking. To think Metias looked his beloved in the face, knowing it was him who killed him. AHHH!

With Day and June going in separate directions, for what I'm assuming is most of the rest of the book, I'm more convinced that there's more to Anden that meets the the eye. Maybe June is going to find out he's actually a good guy and they will have to devise a plan to stop the assassination? Especially with Day being the one to pull the trigger.

Still not digging the Tess attraction. Now even Kaede is in on it, trying to convince Day to give her a chance. Nope. They're supposed to be like siblings. (hide spoiler)]

I didn't think of that, but you're right! In the previous book they were so worked up over the fact that they might have killed someone, but here it was like it didn't even cross their minds they they were going to commit murder. Maybe the fact that he seemed to be an enemy helped, but still they should have had a few qualms.

Pg. 268 (67%) - (view spoiler)[ Everything seems to be happening on a very fast timeline. It has been just days that June was a prisoner, convinced Anden to trust her, and her to trust him in return, and Day and June are back on the run again. Together.

Day didn't react like I thought he would to the news about Eden's "release"....maybe he's right to not trust the words of June....so hard to know who's right because they are both working on assumptions.

Day didn't keep his word to Tess. He said he would choose her, but in fact, left her behind when he and June ran into the tunnel. I wonder how this will come back around when their paths cross again (which they will, right?!)

Lots of emotional scenes mixed with the action scenes of the fight in the hospital room and subsequent jet flight (the ending of which we won't talk about because I'm still not okay with Kaede being gone).

I did love the parallel scene with Day supporting June through the bustling Colony city. So much like when they first arrived in Las Vegas, just roles reversed. (hide spoiler)]
