I've always seen references to the work in popular culture and want to read it.
I was thinking about starting it in October to give any interested parties time to get their copies. We can break the discussions down to the following topic threads:
Prologue and First Notebook
Second Notebook
Third Notebook: Part One
Third Notebook: Part Two
Epilogue and final thoughts and impressions
This way, we can avoid spoilers as well.
What do you say?

It's loose one but something you can roughly work off of. You don't have to follow it faithfully but I find having some general guideline is better than nothing.
Open to any suggestions though. Thanks.

One week per section seems reasonable, I'm in!

I think I just will. I'm so excited by the response! Thank you, everyone!

We will start reading the book in October. It'll give you time to read and comment. Everything is broken into sections so that you can join in when you can. Hope this makes sense.

Have you tried Amazon or Book Depository? Not sure about the shipping time for you.

And since today is the official starting day of our reading club (right Jean?) I'm off reading already!

No worries. Join in when you can! Looking forward to your impressions!

I have a tiny list of books I would like to read and would be happy to talk about it. :)

Higashino Keigo "A midsummers aquatation" (detective crime)

Banana Yoshimoto:
"Kitchen", "The lake", "moshi moshi" (contemporary)

Genki Kawamura "If cats dissapeared from the world"
(magical realism)

Hiromi Kawakami "Strange weather in Tokyo" (romance)

Let me know if you like to read one of the books.

By the way, when I have some free time, I try this riddle-book:

Do you know it?

I haven't heard of this book. It sounds pretty interesting but I am reading Japanese books only at the moment.^^

I hope you are reading the message in time. I have mixed up the novels because of translation. What I wanted to read is this one:

Tell me, if you still like the plot.^^
Once you and your buddy (buddies) have agreed on a book and a general timeline, feel free to create a discussion topic in this folder to help facilitate your buddy read.
Enjoy!
