Copies are given gratis and with trust that some feedback will be transmitted in due course. It's been over a year. Some communication will be appreciated because there's no point in giving out copies for free and so-called reviewers disappearing into the ether once they have got hold of a copy..."

Sadly, this group is full of reviewers who take books and disappear. Every time one of my books shows up on a pirate site, I can't help but wonder if it was one of the copies I gave out here in the Creative Reviews Group.

For certain there are some honorable reviewers in this group. I've met a few. But not all of these new fly-by-night reviewers have good intentions for the books they take from unsuspecting authors.

The reviewers that really tick me off are the ones who seem so eager to review your book, but if you dare to contact them 6 months down the road to check the status of a review they promised to deliver within a couple of weeks, they don't even bother to reply.

R.A. White (rawhite) | 5 comments I've learned to check a reviewers history before offering a book, even an ebook. I want to make sure they read my genre, and that their reviews are insightful and seem honest. At first I did just send files to whomever replied to my listing, but I don't think any of them actually wrote reviews. I'm pretty sure all my reviews are from reviewers that I solicited personally because of their blogs, or people who bought their own copies (or got it free through kindle select when I first released).

A.V. Dalcourt (avdalcourt) I don't worry about that so much. The first phase of my plan is all about the free content. Right now 4 of 5 of my stories is free here on Goodreads and the other one is part of a larger project. Right now my only concern is getting eyes on the project. Reviews would be swell!

The ones that are going for free are:
Dream Eater (Awakening Fractured Memories) by A. Dalcourt Arcanum Mutatio (Awakening Fractured Memories) by A. Dalcourt The Game Beta Testing (Awakening Fractured Memories) by A. Dalcourt Guiding Light (Awakening Fractured Memories) by A. Dalcourt

Of course if anyone wants to pirate the crap out of the these pieces...go for it! I'd still like reviews though :P

Josée (josee-ireadalot) | 10 comments Wow, I wouldn't have thought people even did that. I have a review blog but I review books I buy or download for free from amazon mostly: it's in my header that I review cheap books! I'm on a budget I read too fast. . Some people give a bad name to reviewers, too bad.

No kidding! I'd feel so bad telling someone I'd review their book and not do it! I also noticed Becky didn't answer Dominae...
