Pauline, what do you consider plus-size? I ask only because some folks think plus-size means big or large when that's not always true. Models are considered plus-size when they wear a size 12! LOL

I know what you mean. I like the heroines of my books to be heavier/curvier than society's "ideal", but does that mean they are plus-sized? I'm not sure.

I've wanted to label the heroine of my book Choosing Chase as plus sized, but I've always held back.

I'd love to hear the groups take on how to draw the line.

I asked because when I wrote A Perfect Fit my heroine was a plus-sized model, a size 16. A reader commented on the cover saying the girl wasn't plus-sized. But did you know by modeling standards they consider plus-sized a size 12?

I never considered a size 12 as plus-sized.

I'm Canadian so I'm not sure what the standard is everywhere, but I know that our plus sized stores generally state size 14 and up.

So I'd have to agree that size 12 (even 14) is a little low to be plus sized.

I think so, too. I always thought of plus-sized as around 16 or 18. I've seen some gals out there who wear 12 & 14 and they don't look overweight to me. I think I read somewhere that Marilyn Monroe was a size 14.

I have noticed in the literary world anything over a size 4-6 they are calling curvy or plus sized. I think it should be 14 and above.
