Dont know. I read it about 3-4 years ago and even then the cover was old.I got it from a used book store.

Summary:
Scientist sent to explore a new medieval planet, might be an alternate dimension. He came with a robot, a laser gun, a radar device, and some basic camping equipment.
He discovered the planet is under weird laws of physic. Items got better the more you use them. Clothes get more comfortable when worn a lot. Knives get sharper the more you use it. Armor got stronger the more you hit it.
The society at that planet had discarded creativity because there was no need for it, seeing as things just got better the more you use it. No need to think of new ways to improve. It is stuck in medieval ages.
He was found by a group of people who accuse him of witchcraft because of his clothes and his stuffs were confiscated. He was brought to town where some high-rank lord took his gun and 'improved it'. He killed lots of people making the gun more powerful.
I think the protagonist had a thing with the queen/princess. I dont remember.
