Thinking of Poe, in October

what more apt than to think
of the gloomy house of Usher
about to fall
when the thunder rolled through the door
earthquake more than thunder

there was no tapping at the door
only a dismal feeling tapping at my heart
that made me wonder
if something had stirred in the air
or in the ground
or maybe it was just the thunder
but I opened the door –

I have no bust of Pallas
only this deserted table of decay
where we once
sat together

and a red masque
and the extinguished candles of my soul

so that’s where I sat with the Night
and that’s where we sit
for evermore

A Lesson In Love:


Everybody hated Sketch
from Skins but I,
I was one of the
people that didn’t.

I understood her,
possibly too much.

Everybody simplifies
her by calling her
creepy and that
she should get
some help.

She loved
Maxxie,
intensely,
wholeheartedly.

Her heart
bursting at the
seams every time
they exchanged
glances or his
hand accidentally
brushed against hers.

Now,
she did things
to get close to
Maxxie which
were quite extreme.

However,
to be told by
the person you
love that you
disgust them simply
because you love
them is disgusting
in itself.
It is also tragic.

Maxxie and most
people will never
see the damage of
his words nor will
they see just how
much Sketch loved
Maxxie.

Because she
sleeps with Amwar
she has apparently
‘moved on’.
Everybody is
so quick to question
people when they
say they love somebody,
so they of course
think that because
she slept with Amwar,
it was of course an
infatuation and they
were fucking right
all along.

No,
Sketch did not
move on,
she slept with
Amwar to try
and get attention
from Maxxie and
also to subdue that
underlying issue
deep set within her
heart and soul.

I know this.
I understand this.
You people do not
know of love.
You try to tell us
that we do not know
of love but oh my
innocent dears,
we know love
because we fear it
and anticipate it
all at the same time.

Love is not the
calmest ocean,

love is the
swirling time
vortex that

you should know about
love is that it never
leaves.

Honestly I’m not a big talker and even if I was I don’t think a pretty girl would really want to know what I have in mind. One Lover’s Language… personally I think love is its own language, I just never learned how to speak it, but could I learn

Just when I think I don't have a heart, another piece finds it's way back and boom. First thank you ever so much for reading and you're incredibly kind words about me and my passion. I've never been formally educated in poetry or writing but to be compared to Edgar Allen Poe... wow and everyone says I have a dark side but in the darkness is the light or so I want to believe. As for broken hearts mine is a constant rebuild and I try to be erotic though I feel I come off rather raunchy... that's what having my "v-card" gets me. If you like that last line might I suggest you look up David Gray... his song This Years Love does inspire me and it is a rather beautiful song. Haven't given up yet and as Yoda said "do or do not, there is no try" so I'll write :) thank you again

Everyone says I should write a book... you won't believe this but I have actually written eight books but not a single one has been published :( Another thing about having no formal writing education is that my own editing sucks. I do appreciate the vote of confidence though :)

I can’t speak of love and yet I can talk about sex all day but in both matters I would only be talking to myself anyway. Squeaky Goes the Voice of Love… maybe I need to be a man about it or I don’t know how to express it; reason I became a poet.

Does a man love the same way twice; the rudiments of love differ, the man that loved a girl, is not the man that loves another and if I could do it again… “Love Yours Love”, the things I’ve never done with a girl and the man that does them.

How tempting it is, should my heart be traded

Saw this girl primping and preening and I’ve always been one for a lovely smile; so she caught my eye again and again, never more for a few seconds so forgive me for looking a bit lower as the day progressed. South of HER Smile, it’s been awhile

Meaning… no it’s nothing

Shucks it’s too much
