On the other end, I would ask these authors in fantasy that still writes about Elves Dwarfs, Goblins, and the likes to write a book without them. I'm looking at you Terry Brooks.

I haven't seen a true elf or dwarf in fantasy in years. Personally I miss it. I think there's too much realism in the genre today. I want the "fantasy" brought back into fantasy.
