This book is at least 5 years old, and the genre is paranormal romance, action, fantasie. I think this is a series of at least three books. A good witch lives in a sentient house on a hill, and she falls in love with a vampire. They manage to make love without the vampire feeding on her blood, wich was theoretically impossible. Because of this the vampire doesn't need to feed on blood any more but on the sexual energy from the sex they have. The witch gets pregnant and i think they have a daughter. In the second book, the sister of the witch from the first book, Ash (i think is her name, not sure though) comes to town with her 10? year old daughter. She is a hunter that goes after supernatural critters. Some powerful vamps that are enemies want to kidnap the second with and make her breed them kids since before this they couldn't impregnate anyone. At some point in the second book a portal to a long lost and forgotten ( faerie) prison opens up in an alleyway of a bar. Someone kidnaps the second witches daughter and her mam has to rescue her from the prison. In the meanwhile She falls in love with her own hero. In the third book, a war ensues between good witches and bad ones(fae and other?) and they have to save the world. I really hope someone knows the title of the Book/Series/Author. TIA.

I know that in A Discovery of Witches the main character, a witch, is impregnated by a vampire, and there is some conflict between good and bad witches.

Hmm, its not the mayfair's or discovery (ADoW). I came in with 'the easy answer' of ADoW, but that flys out the window with the sister, the extra kid, the portal, war and the feeding/energy stuff doesn't match either.

Would be interested in reading it if it can be found.

Book 2 is actually about Mac and Constance in The Castle (supernatural prison). Book 3 is about Holly's sister, Ashe.

I really enjoyed all 4 books and wish she'd been able to continue this series.
