Kim finally finished it. it wasn't to bad of a book. what did u think of it Kagama-the Literaturevixen?

Kagama-the Literaturevixen Just Kagama is fine :)

Well I read it as a teen and was a bit ashamed to be reading it since it turned out to be so lurid.I wouldnt say I liked it but curiosity got the better of me and I finished it.

I had a look through it when I was a bit older and giggled at the purple prose. But then I cant say I am a fan of Philippa Gregory.

Picked up The Queen's Fool when it first came out and gave up on the author then.

We cant all have the same likes I guess.

Kim wideacre was different that was the first book I have read by Philippa Gregory. I didn't buy it the book was given to me by a friend I work with. so I'm not gonna complain. I have read better books though.

Its alwasy a bit difficult to say how you felt about itwhen friends loan you books and then they ask you if you liked it.

Lizzie Bissett Wideacre is part of a trilogy. The 2nd book is The Favoured Child and the final one is Meridon.
These books ARE very different to Philippa Gregory's usual stories. However, I really enjoyed them.
Best PG book has to be The Wise Woman!

Anne Yes. I enjoyed it.

Marie O'neil The trilogy is completly different to her other books, I thought they were ok and read all three but my best mate has been struggling to get through the first one because of the whole incest thing.

Kim Howell I have read this trilogy several times, and find something new in it each time. In fact, I just finished Wideacre and am starting The Favored Child tonight.

Perri I've read Wideacre, and attempted to read the second book. I didn't get very far because of the continued incest.

For those who have read all three books, does it continue to depend on the incest between the two, or does the storyline venture in other directions?

I've read other books by the author and truly like her, but this series is difficult.

Euka Tasnim i liked the book but to my surprise i just found out that a lot of people didnt. When i first started to read wideacre the incest thing was something i did not see it coming but this act actually shows how much Beatrice was desperate to own the land.It reflects how much rights women had back in those times. It was both at the same time intriguing and disgusting to me. I couldnt put the book down. I think i liked The Favoured Child the most. The last book did not like so much.

I just finished it last week. It was a pretty good book! Took me a while to read it though. The book is a bit slow with a lot of build up near the middle to end, but that's usually what happens with a longer book. Beatrice is an amazing character and Gregory does a glorious job at developing her throughout the book. It's almost too easy to forget how young she is, only 20 or so.

I would recommend this book to Philippa Gregory fans. I do plan on reading "The Favored Child" and "Meridon" after I finish my current book. She is one of my favorite authors and has such a talent for generating historical novels.

Hope you enjoy it!
