Ann Crispin, the author who goes by pen name A.C. Crispin, is nearing the end of a long battle with cancer.

Yes, it is said. I just found that out today. Her work for Star Trek and Star Wars was memorable---but my favorite is her STARBRIDGE series---long out of print. It appears she has regain the rights and the seven books will be re-issued. A great series if anyone has not read them!
