Michael Its no secret that the wheel of time is the longest fantasy book series, its also no secret that it is one of the most popular and considered by many as the greatest. With 20 years under its belt there has been a lot of severe anticipation for the last book. We're you satisfied with the ending?

falconxnet personaly i wanted to murder sanderson for the scene of Rand bowing to the princess .. i even thought of stopping right there but well i just couldnt .. id preferred if both of them bowed to each other & like that the prophecy would be fulfilled and our little stubborn but beautifull princess would be quite satisfied .. However at the very least Rand got the best bargain in the end after all he left the kingdoms in a lovely BIG MESS for what is left of his allies to rule & guide through these treacherous times and am quite certain that will prove way HARDER than winning the war

Neal Simmons I think it was a fitting ending. Overall, Sanderson did a better job on his books in the series than Jordan did for his latter ones, but then Sanderson only had to wrap stuff up.

The deaths that happened, were pretty much needed/expected.

As for Rand bowing, he had to do something for her to save face and get her support. It wound up meaning absolutely nothing, and he knew that when he did it.

Jenelle I loved the last book. I did feel that the last pages left the story a bit more open-ended than I would have liked... but I didn't really want it all tied up in a nice, neat bow, either.

Rand bowing did not bother me at all. He changed a lot in the last three books, and his goals changed. He did not lose anything by bowing and being the less stubborn of the two, and perhaps gained more than Tuon meant for him to by doing so (and I think she realized it, too).

falconxnet In the first 5-6 books we see that women rule men in the general term & i didnt really mind it ..rather i liked it that way because it was understandable after the break of the world and the chaos caused by the dragon & Co that customs and the way pple live their lives will inexorably change accordingly .. and in this evolution there will be the good & the bad .. however all of a sudden we begun seeing women of power being stubborn for no good reason and doing whatever they liked and men scurrying to do what they r bidded to do meekly whether they were ur common smuggler or a general of great power and prestige .. i most certainly didnt like this setting - well to be fair there s at least Mat who fought from the start to escape their clutches & annoy them - And the scene of bowing was the last straw .. i just dont understand how can Teon beleive wholeheartedly in stupid omens and such and when it comes to fighting the dark one her judgment goes awry & thinks that she ll be able to defeat him & the chosen ALONE even though a part of her soldiers fought some minions of the dark - nothing special just ur usual hord of monsters - and barely won and that with Aybara & co..there is also the matter of our dear peddler -Padan Fain - i wish that he allied himself with Rand or one of his allies that doesnt know of his bloody history than betrayed him in Shayol ghul or something like that .. the way his scenes goes is like a balloon getting bigger and bigger and then unexpectedly BOOOOM and everyone lived ever happily O_×

matt h I loved the final battle. I felt that some deaths seemed a little token, and some survivals pandering. Ultimately I detested the very very ending.

As for Rand bowing, I felt that he'd outgrown is own need for absolute power by that point, recognizing that it didn't matter a whit since he wasn't supposed to be around after the battle anyways.
