I realized I haven't updated my reading list in a while on Goodreads. I'm reading Where'd You Go, Bernadette. Has anyone else read this? What did you think?

I'm reading Monsieur Ibrahim and the Flowers of the Koran & Oscar and the Lady in Pink. It's a book with 2 short novellas. I've read the first and loved it and will hopefully read the second this weekend. I got the book for the second novella but I'm so glad that I read the first as well.

I'm reading Christmas on Jane Street: A True Story. I know it's a little late (or early) to be reading a Christmas book, but I like it so far.

Hi. It's been a little while since my last post and the first reading of the year for me is The Night Land. Till now is an interesting journey in a strange, dark world.

Cocaine Blues, a historical mystery with a flapper heroine, set in 1920s Australia. Light as a bottle of champagne. Lots of fun so far.

My goodness, I haven't been able to read in a week! I finally started Anna Karenina last night and haven't gotten very far yet but it's long been a goal to read some Leo Tolstoy. I can't believe I haven't done it before now....

Lee, I hope you enjoy Anna Karenina as much as I did! its one of my all time favorites along with war and peace.

Dorcas, I'm beginning to get engaged. I wasn't sure at first but I've just been introduced to Anna. :-)

In this moment I'm reading Joyland, by Stephen King. I've almost finished and till now I really like it.

Lee, you know what? I actually loved the love story between Levi and Kitty (was that their names?) even more than Anna and her men. But that's what I love about Tolstoy, there's more than one focus going on so the story is so much richer. Enjoy!

Dorcas, I'm loving the story between Levin and Kitty as well. It's so sweet! I'm not a big fan of Vronsky.

I'm with you, Lee. I loved Anna, and still miss the folks in War And Peace more than a year later!

It's wonderful when characters feel so real that they stay with you for a long time after finishing a book.

. I think it's perfect for "Comfort Reads" - a lovely book, great storyline. Loved the characters. Beautifully written.

Now I'm reading American Gods. This is an amazing book, more for an adult target, written with a fluent style.

An Englishman In Madrid -- I'm not sure if it's the writing or the translation but the books plods a bit.

I took a break from Anna Karenina and zipped through a fun read - The Iron Duke. This was a combination of steampunk, adventure, romance, and alternate history. I really enjoyed it!

I've got 5 or 6 books from the library to choose from all from different genres. I'm still dithering, here they are..... Wonder, Longbourn, Still Life with Bread Crumbs, The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne and a random grab of The Gate House. Hopefully one of these will grab me.

I'm reading Twilight of the Belle Epoque: The Paris of Picasso, Stravinsky, Proust, Renault, Marie Curie, Gertrude Stein, and Their Friends Through the Great War. Very good.

Hi everyone. I am having endless problems with my internet and hope to have that working better in a couple of weeks. Tonight was certainly a surprise and fluke. I just haven't been able to get onto certain sites. I have really missed getting on Goodreads, but have reading like crazy and will have many books to review. I have missed all of your discussions and can't wait to get back.

My copy of Death in the Baltic: The World War II Sinking of the Wilhelm Gustloff arrived today. This will most likely NOT be a comfort read, but a story that must be told and that has waited much too long to be told.
