Alex | 2 comments I read this book while in primary school, (about 1997-1999) and it was very moving. It was about a young girl who had special powers, I believe she could see in colour while others couldn't, and could also see towards a Utopian future. She was held captive by her family I think?

The cover/ title i vaguely remember may have had something to do with eyes, maybe all in sepia with blue eyes? I may just be guessing now.

Oh my gosh, Damali - I have been looking for this book for over 10 years! It was in fact the first book from the same series, 'The Giver' that I had read in primary school.

Thank you so so much!
